Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I'll go with
Riewoldt & Montagna
for
Membrey & Savage
It sounds like Savage trained okay, but if he had hamstring tightness then might be rested. He was pretty quiet before being subbed too.

Two experienced players in. One out. There is no-one else I wanted to drop. It's getting pretty hard to fit in all the players I want in the team. Need to find room for Ross, White, Minch and McCartin also. Don't want to see ray, Schneider or Gilbert in the seniors again.
As for nearly winning the game for us...

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Roo and Joey for Membrey and Sinclair, or Dunstan if he doesn't come up. Membrey a bit unlucky, but I don't know who else would go.
I reckon they're keen on the Longer and Hickey experiment so can't see either of them going.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Whats with the Dunstan sore intel? It's not mmentioned anywhere on the website. As for Membrey being unlucky...yes and no...he looks a player, sticky hands and good work rate. But he's not going to keep Rooy or the urban cowboy out and he's not hitting the scoreboard enough IMO just yet...plenty of time and hope he can work on his aerobic capacity and develop his all round game to become a more flexible player and pinch hit in the midfield. Build wise, there's a bit of Luke Parker about him.

In: Roo, Joey
out: Membrey, Acres
Roo can easily play Membreys role as 3rd tall and just get a roaming commission in the forward half.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I think Acres showed enough in his brief time on the field to warrant a full senior game this week.
For me it would be Schneider and Membrey.
As for Schneids nearly winning the game for us, he won it for Essendon with his last two shots at goal.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Membrey/Hickey for Roo and Acres/McKenzie/Sinclair for Joey.
Who ever comes out can probably count themselves unlucky.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I can't believe Membrey is being considered as a possible out. He has been playing his role perfectly & will be a great foil for Roo & Bruce.
We'll be massively top heavy against a super quick side with Hickey staying in. He played well against a very tall backline last week but the Dogs don't have massive defenders so if the pill hits the ground, we'll be exposed for pace.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I think you've got that the wrong way around. They don't have tall defenders so we definitely should pick a tall forward line. If Hickey takes five marks inside 50 then it doesn't matter what he does the rest of the time.Animal Enclosure wrote:We'll be massively top heavy against a super quick side with Hickey staying in. In: roo Joey
Out: hickey - was brilliant to make fletcher go with him for height and stop fletch being the long arm cover defender they like him to be. But with roo this week too tall
Schneider let's steel ourselves and move into the post Schneider era. Somehow I think we'll be ok
Hope acres gets a full game maybe in place of Sinclair who did ok but needs better defensive efforts

In roo and Joey
Out Schneider and savage (assuming injury) if not Sinclair
We won't be too tall roo is as mobile as Schneider and offers more forward pressure IMO.
Membrey had his best game on the weekend he must stay in for development.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Tough... If you go through last week's 22... no one really deserves to be dropped (good sign). Hmmm I'll guess McKenzie and Sinclair... Maybe Savage or Dunstan if they're genuinely sore. Really looking forward to Saturday's game.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
In Roo and Joey
Out (If injured/sore) Savage and Schneider
Might be a good time to experiment playing Roo as a permanent wingman?
Keep the current 3 talls (Bruce, Hickey, Membrey)
and have Roo as the marking option on the wing/flank from the backline.
Might just 'open' the Bulldogs up.

I really hope not. We lose another midfielder if we do that.
