Just my opinion.
I have now agreed with SP. And I just like typing to add to the discussion.

You are too lenient .........they should be banned for ever for that.........the jaba jaba business they were involved fades to nothing compared to this "crime"............SaintPav wrote:That's really terrible.
The club should be sanctioned for two years over something like that.
The jaba jaba stuff was crap.santazzi wrote:You are too lenient .........they should be banned for ever for that.........the jaba jaba business they were involved fades to nothing compared to this "crime"............SaintPav wrote:That's really terrible.

Whilst I didn't like what was said on the banner, it was effective in touching on some raw nerves. It may have worked in getting more of our supporters more vocal. Boy, BJ Goddard certainly copped it from all angles during the match. The Essendon CS would have been eating that banner for their tea, had we have kicked a little straighter.Austinnn wrote:Why would anyone get upset about that? I agree with P66, honestly out of everything about Essendon, that banner is far down the list of offensive elements.
I thought you had much thicker skin, SPrem.
Austinn my good friend, as you're a froggy and not at games (I assume you are in France)Austinnn wrote:Why would anyone get upset about that? I agree with P66, honestly out of everything about Essendon, that banner is far down the list of offensive elements.

Some people are far too precious, Austinn. I like that they did something out of the norm. I don't even pay attention to what they put on banners these days, because 99% of the time it something completely banal. All it was was a harmless little dig at the opposition supporters. If anything, it was good because it brought more feeling into the game. And you're right, it wasn't as though it was disrespectful either. They did add we'd at least give them a contest. It wasn't like "we're going to defecate all over you whilst we're at it". They were basically saying "the other supporters are going to carry on like pork chops over a former player, which will make it all the more fun to win". I would like to think this would motivate our CS to come up with something as witty next time we play them.Austinnn wrote:I genuinely don't get what was offensive about saying we would cry for Goddard to come back though. A harmless dig on the "chewy on yer boot" side of the scale of insults. They even said we'd have a crack!
I'm offended that their coach isn't banned from the game, that the sham of an investigation ended with loads of money and time wasted and no justice, that they messed us about for two preseasons in a row, but saying that the club likes an old player of ours,
Hugh actually did some training with the Bombers prior to the Draft.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Dont understand the probelm.
Didn't we get Goddard back in the last draft?
No. 21 I think.
A bit slow are Essondope supporters.
