Re: Massive outs for carlton this week
CHRIS Judd will miss Carlton's Anzac Day clash with St Kilda in New Zealand on Saturday.
Judd did not board the plane with teammates at Melbourne Airport on Thursday morning and is battling hamstring tightness

Re: Massive outs for carlton this week
Hmmmm - someone in another thread said this thread looks silly but with the news of Judd being ruled out it is now looking pretty spot on - throw in Jameison being a likely out then these OUTS for Carlton are very significant - thinks the odds are now tipped in our favour

So who kicks our goals? Looks to me like we have about 50 games of forward experience tops in our forward line ... I still think Carlton should start as firm favourites.

Bruce, McCartin, Membrey, and Sinclair, 4 each should do.St DAC wrote:So who kicks our goals?
Who defends for Carlton?

Bruce to kick a bag, Membrey a couple, McCartin a handy few and an even spread of goalkicking midsSt DAC wrote:So who kicks our goals? Looks to me like we have about 50 games of forward experience tops in our forward line ... I still think Carlton should start as firm favourites.
I'm an optimist

I hope you're rightBunk_Moreland wrote:Bruce, McCartin, Membrey, and Sinclair, 4 each should do.
Who defends for Carlton?
The usual suspects excepting Jamison (possibly out).
It's the midfield as usual where this will be won, and I think at this stage they bat a bit deeper there than we do.

Yep this week is all about the mids. Both forward lines are poor. If Jack and Armo are better than Gibbs and Murphy we have a real chance. As you say they have a fraction more depth but both sides look very ordinary. The good thing for us though is we should have better younger players in the long run.

Re: Massive outs for carlton this week
Most disappointing out for me is Weller. Murphy is a little front runner and just the kind of player Weller would destroy.
Murphy likely to have a good game now unopposed.

Carlton in the white shorts would've been very embarrassing for Gibbs had Weller been assigned to him. Real shame he is out, having a much better year than I expected.Con Gorozidis wrote:Most disappointing out for me is Weller. we simply can not afford to be out-tanked this week....

Re: Massive outs for carlton this week
Carlton with Judd since 2008: 67-2-71 = 47.9% wins
Carlton without Judd since 08: 12-0-11 = 52.2% wins
Maybe it would have been better if he'd played? Then again:
St Kilda with Riewoldt since 2001: 141-5-137 = 49.8% wins
St Kilda without Riewoldt since 01: 23-0-22 = 51.1% wins
Statistics can prove anything!

Re: Massive outs for carlton this week
Those stats don't mean to much IMHO as they are basically 50/50 with or without each player. If you had of said 25/75 for example then you'd be onto something.bergholt wrote:Carlton with Judd since 2008: 67-2-71 = 47.9% wins

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!
