Sorry I missed it.
Reckon he was the very best footballer I've ever seen, better that Matthews, Carey and the Ablett family.

Thanks for the compliment. You obviously read my stuff on the Essendon thread.

Also missed it as I never listen to 3AW. From what I gather the big man has mellowed well with age. And you're spot on, P66. He was always very humble. I still can't believe Mike Sheahan put Dunstall before him.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

No, agree with that. Dunstall was very good, but not in the same street as PluggerSainternist wrote:Also missed it as I never listen to 3AW. From what I gather the big man has mellowed well with age. Im pretty sure we didn't put up much of a fight. Seemed we were happy to let him go. Anyway players have a right to leave their club to get more money. Most of us would leave our job to get more money.

Sheahan probably rated Dunstall in front of Lockett because Dunstall is also employed by Fox Footy.
Anyway, Sheahan never was much of a judge of footballers.

Best footballer I've seen.
Didn't fumble. Didn't miss a target. Or a head.

Many Hawks and Cats could have left for more money...but they didn't...respect.
Even though it seems it was mutual. I thought Ablett left Geelong. Maybe im wrong. And they won flags. It seems easier to stick together when that happens. I would hardly call BJ or Dal traitors. Also I take it you have never left a job for more money. I actually haven't but I know many who have and I certainly would if I hadn't been unemployed for the last 9 years.

Lance Franklin and Dermott Brereton come to mind. Half the current Hawks list and a fair bit of geelongs have come from other clubs.SAAD wrote:Still a traitor in my eyes Pluggz.

The best bar none.
I used to love watching him play, even after he left. He became a property of the game.
