Re: Potential move back to Moorabin?
With the Junction Oval door now seemingly shut (it was always to do with the big money), it's time to get on with the Moorabin move as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, it will take lots of time to get things in place from a building perspective. However, we now at last know where we are heading - we need the stability of a decent location.
Re: Potential move back to Moorabin?
The HeraldSun have no credibility whatsoever. If they are reporting that the door is shut then I can safely assume it is not. There's a lot more water to flow under the bridge before I give up on the JO.Junction Oval wrote:With the Junction Oval door now seemingly shut (it was always to do with the big money), it's time to get on with the Moorabin move as quickly as possible. Re: Potential move back to Moorabin?
We've still got a lease at Moorabbin so we have to do something there. Once we have a stand alone VFL side they will play there. Don't think it will be used for much else.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Can you win a premiership with your local footy club?saint-stu wrote:I moved from Frankston to the area formerly known as Moorabbin last year so will be very happy if they make the move back

Not entirely sure what you mean, but it's purely selfish. I like them to be near by so that we can attend training, intraclub etc. Will be great to watch the stand alone VFL team.SainterK wrote:Can you win a premiership with your local footy club?saint-stu wrote:I moved from Frankston to the area formerly known as Moorabbin last year so will be very happy if they make the move back

Premiership seems so far away it's not something I comprehend. Lots of talk on SEN saying we are 10 years off challenging again. I'm starting to wonder will I ever see one.SainterK wrote:I was being mischievous, that the club appears to be copying you...never mind, poor attemptsaint-stu wrote:Not entirely sure what you mean, but it's purely selfish. It's not called what the subject heading says.Bernard Shakey wrote:What's it called now?saint-stu wrote:I moved from Frankston to the area formerly known as Moorabbin last year so will be very happy if they make the move back
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Bentleigh East. A chunk of Moorabbin was renamed, but I'm not sure when.Bernard Shakey wrote:There's a lot of spelling and grammatical errors here, but saint-stu spelled it wright!Jacks Back wrote:It's not called what the subject heading says.Bernard Shakey wrote:What's it called now?saint-stu wrote:I moved from Frankston to the area formerly known as Moorabbin last year so will be very happy if they make the move back

Everything around here is East Bentleigh now. Its getting bigger and bigger but Moorabbin is still Moorabbin.

Re: Potential move back to Moorabin?
My grandparents lived South of South Rd and the beach side of the highway and for 40 years it was known as Moorabbin. It's now Hampton East, but in my book, anywhere across The Bluff is not Hampton!

I wouldn't say 10 years. More like at least 5 years. By 2020 we will be cherry ripe.saint-stu wrote:Premiership seems so far away it's not something I comprehend. Hypothetically, if we got picks 10 and 12 for them, would you consider it?plugger66 wrote:citywest wrote:I wouldn't say 10 years. More like at least 5 years. I'm a huge Armo' fan. I expect him to further step-up his game again this year.saintspremiers wrote:Hypothetically, if we got picks 10 and 12 for them, would you consider it?plugger66 wrote: Only if we get rid of Armo and Steven.

But... if we're doing the hypertheticals, and Pick 10 was available, and if Nakia Cockatoo was available at Pick 10... I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.
Very early call I know (sorry to be stealing your role around here again, Con ), and without casting any aspersions on the footballing ability of anyone taken in the draft...
I'd rate Petracca as No 1, Nakia C as No 2.
Time will tell of course...
Back on topic... CW is correct... and as even our resident SS devil's advocate can confirm... Rome wasn't built in a day.
Don't give up on JO. Keep the faith.
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?

"There are some things you can't cover up with lipstick and powder".
And calling the east of Bluff Rd part of Moorabbin "East Hampton" is one of them.
But did wonders to property prices.
They did the same thing with part of Gardenvale becoming Brighton.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Re: Potential move back to Moorabin?
Yes and parts of Hawthorn becoming Kew. People love to climb the social ladder, and change of boundaries or re-naming suburbs with an East, South (rarely West or North) helps them puff their tiny chests out.................. or they add to the wrong side of the boundary suburb the extras such as................ Heights, Lakes etcEnrico_Misso wrote:Yes.saintspremiers wrote:My grandparents lived South of South Rd and the beach side of the highway and for 40 years it was known as Moorabbin.
