EMERGING midfielder Luke Dunstan has returned to full training this week following shoulder surgery late last season.
The 19-year-old is one of a number of Saints that have completed restricted trainings programs and are no undertaking a rigorous two months of fitness programs in preparation for 2015.>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>
Swingman Josh Bruce’s recovery is also on track after he underwent shin surgery in August. Bruce has been building on his pre-season form, recording a personal best time in the 2km time trial on Wednesday when the players returned to training.
Significantly, Tom Lee, Eli Templeton, Jimmy Webster, Jarryn Geary, Luke Delaney, Tom Curren and Shane Savage have also been given a clean bill of health.
After suffering a setback with his shoulder in New Zealand, Arryn Siposs will remain on a modified program as he recovers from surgery.
New recruit Jack Lonie will also have a delayed return after the small forward rolled his ankle at the last session before Christmas. He will commence running later this month.
Tom Hickey (knee) and Sam Gilbert (foot) are progressing well with their rehabilitation; both are on track to be available for St Kilda’s opening clash of the home and away season against GWS.

Re: Recovery List 2015
...genuinely excited about having close to a full squad available for selection at the start of the season........really looking forward to the development of our list over the next couple of years (and beyond).....
..yes, we may be in for some blowouts on the scoreboard this season...
..but I also believe we're going to surprise and upset a few teams when we can get our sh!t together.....and we'll take a couple of big scalps along the way.

That's really disappointing. He was already going to be up against it to hold his spot on the list this year. Now he's got a massive mountain to climb.saintbrat wrote:After suffering a setback with his shoulder in New Zealand, Arryn Siposs will remain on a modified program as he recovers from surgery.

The screws were taken out of his right shoulder but were too embedded in his left, so the surgeon tidied things up and sent him back for more rehabilitation.
This summer, Lee has been better with his recovery. He's done as many sessions as he can with his teammates and has been sensible in the gym.
This week, he was finally able to lift the same weights as his peers.
"Now that I've learnt how to do it, I think if I had to get surgery again I'd come off it in a lot better way," he said,
"It took a long time of playing catch-up to get myself to a level to play and then by the time I did finally play, I realised how far back I actually was.
"That's the one thing I've been happy with this pre-season – I've been able to consistently train without having any setbacks … that's the difference, just knowing what it can handle.

Re: Recovery List 2015
Yeah I think people were too soon to judge him as his body never looked sound and were far too quick to write him off !
Hopefully he can get himself up a going and have a solid year.
I wonder how we are going to fit all the talls into the forward line going forward given that Bruce, White, Lee, Reiwoldt, McCartin plus the lead up mediums in Membrey, Markworth, Murdoch & Sipposs and a resting ruckmen up forward. Something has to give and the obvious is to move Bruce back and perhaps play White as the 2nd ruckmen (but he doesnt have any endurance abilities). It is going to be tight and competititve for spots which is great, but we still need to get games into younger blokes - a tough ask!

Re: Recovery List 2015
The most important thing this year is to stop relying on Rooey for the bulk of our goals. Get him out of our forward line and give the job to the young guys. eg. Tall forwards....Tom Lee, Spencer White, Paddy McCartin. Medium/crumbing forwards....Eli Templeton, Luke Dunstan, Jack Billings, Tim Membrey. If their form holds up I would play all 7 of these guys each week. I realize that we may not win too many games without Roo there but it doesn't matter as 2015 should be looked upon as another year at ground zero before we start heading back up the ladder in 2016.

The odds continue to lengthen on a successful comeback for Arryn. It 's a pity. He's had no luck.

Gee, bad luck for Jimmy Webster. Still looking for a real break out season from him. And Luke D....another bit of bad luck. We really need to get a good run with injuries this year. Last year's carnage did not help.
