Re: Luke Beveridge
I hate the thought of losing Luke to the dogs. From what I know he's in the final three with Montgomery and Sumich. Luke Darcy and Worsfold are on the panel, so we can only hope they stuff it up, as the bulldogs usually do. Remember Brendan McCartney was supposed to represent a break from the bulldog environment and we all know how that went.
I do know of Luke's work from my alma mater, St.Bede's Mentone. Luke showed his ability in taking the club through to an A grade premiership. He proved to be shrewd, precise in his work and an excellent man manager. He's done the courses, educated himself and executed superbly. It's why I was excited when he was appointed to the saints. We can only hope "blue steel" Darcy and his committee makes the wrong decision. I'm sure they will.

Owes it all to Russell Barnes who was sacked and replaced by Bevo at St Bedes.

A classic "sliding doors" moment. A bit like the one coming up. I just hope it goes our way.

Re: Luke Beveridge
If Bevo goes to the dogs, any chance that we'd go for Tudor for the Bevo role? I rate him highly, based on his time with us.
Don't like this in general, hope we're not just standing back and waiting for him to choose.

Custom is that clubs will release you from a contract but ONLY for a senior coaching job.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Luke Beveridge
Tudor is the next big thing and if he's smart he'll wait for a plum job like the one Eade just landed.

I wouldn't have thought so, however, they need to be talked up so that someone stays interested in them.Waltzing St Kilda wrote:Tudor is the next big thing and if he's smart he'll wait for a plum job like the one Eade just landed.

I'd love to know what McCartney told the Bulldogs in their end of year review, he may have told them they were deficient in multiple areas and unless they sorted it they would remain a crap team.
He got the flick and the Dogs paid overs for a 9 game veteran, who happens to be a Key Forward, something McCartney was trying to create out of the players the Dogs recruiters supplied him with..

Thanks Tony. That is actually reassuring.tony74 wrote:Think you'll find he'll stay with us.
But are we now going to endure this every time someone sacks a coach? I'd like to have some consistency for at least a couple of years?
