Draft Order
am i right in saying that after picks 1 21 22 we will have to use all remaining pics on our rookies ? we have four picks after those and after mav just signing a 2 year deal which i would assume is a non rookie deal then we will only get 3 players in the draft? also how many players are we going to have to delist after we now have committed to adding 3 draft players plus 4 rookie upgrades plus Membre and then there will be 4 rookies but that doesn't count?

Re: Draft Order
Provisionally we have
Pick No 1
Pick No 21
Pick No 22
Pick No 42
Pick No 79
Pick No 97
Pick No 115
So far we have activated 6 of these picks and announced that we will be upgrading three rookies, Eli Templeton, Cameron Shenton and Daren Minchington
The rookies will take the last three activated picks.
In coming days we can expect to hear that one more senior player is going to be delisted.
Chances are this will be Terry Milera who wanted to rteutrn to South Australia but failed to get any trade interest out of Adelaide or Port Adelaide.
If St Kilda do delist him then one of those clubs may take him as a delisted free agent.
Otherwise his career is over.
These actions would mean we go into the draft with 4 active picks
Those picks would be provisionally (later pick numbers may fall depending on other clubs activation policies)
Pick No 1 Superman 1
Pick No 21 Superman 2
Pick No 22 Superman 3
Pick No 42 Superman 4
Pick No 79 Rookie upgrade
Pick No 97 Rookie upgrade
Pick No 115 Rookie upgrade
An added complication is Tim Membery
Sydney will probably decide to delist him.
If St Kilda want him we must delist one additional player to make a space for Membrey.
Membrey could then come to St Kilda as a delisted free agent or even go to another club.
Or he could wait and nominate for the pre-season draft.
Ideally St Kilda would take him as a a delisted free agent.
We would then retain our No 1 pick in the pre-season draft but would need to delist a further player to create room for that pick.

Re: Draft Order
your forgetting weller to be upgraded as well i'm pretty sure that he signed a full deal not a rookie deal seeing as a 2 year rookie deal doesn't sound right for a bloke who finished in our top 10

No announcement yet on a deal with Weller, until announced he remains a rookie.jimmy_slats wrote:your forgetting weller to be upgraded as well i'm pretty sure that he signed a full deal not a rookie deal seeing as a 2 year rookie deal doesn't sound right for a bloke who finished in our top 10
Activation of pick 41 probably ends Milera.
Membrey and a pre-season draft pick probably ends Schneider's career.
Even more likely if Weller were to be upgraded.

Re: Draft Order
Surely we cant use 41 on a Rookie?
Seems a wasted pick? Jimmy Webster was pick 42.
Nothing to do with how much I rate Weller - but cant we have both?
