Prediction following Stanley trade
With Stanley traded my guess now is a trade with either GWS or WB ( depending on Griffin trade) of 1 for 4 & 6/7 and the Saints pick Wright to replace Stanley at 4, mid at 6/7 and BA at 21/22?

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
I hope we don't waste pick 4 (if that's what we end up with) on a 200cm Ruck/Forward simply to replace the 200cm Ruck/Forward we just traded out.
Let's replace Rhys with some of the big guys we already have on the list and use our picks to get the best available talent (if that's judged to be PW then so be it)

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
I would love to see us trade Pick 1 and 22 to GWS for 4 and 7 (after the Griffen trade). Having 4, 7 and 21 would definitely fast track our rebuild.

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
dont like it ... keep pick 1 pick the bst player regardless of the position .. we can always look at FA to pick up a big forward when we are closer to being a challanger for the flag ... its a long rebuild Rome wasnt built in a day we dont need to replace what we gave away straight away

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
Have a feeling PW will be the BA at 4 unless it is with WB and they take McCartin 1 and Melbourne want a big with either 2 or 3, which would see Brayshaw 4 , however Melbourne I think will take 2 mids.Dr Spaceman wrote:I hope we don't waste pick 4 (if that's what we end up with) on a 200cm Ruck/Forward simply to replace the 200cm Ruck/Forward we just traded out.

Not so much the trade to get PW but more that being the likely result when considering the trades undertaken
Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
I now think we will Trade pick 1 to GWS for 4 & 7.
Select 2 meter Peter with pick 4 now Stanley has gone and get a mid with pick 7.

Well it's official now that GWS have pick 7 from Carlton for Jaksch, Whiley & pick 19. So GWS now have 4 & 7......

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
Pelchan said on SEN that three offers for #1 has been rejected.
Expects the Frenzy of offers to continue until late tomorrow.
Sounds like we aren't going to budge unless it is an excellent deal
4 & 7 wont get it done.
4,6, & 7?

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
Based on this year the spoon was a big chance in 2015 with or without a fit Roo , not sure Stanley was going to pull us that much further up the ladder.stinger wrote:yes...and if roo goes down we are certainties for next years wooded spoon...if that happens i will be writing o the whole board requesting the pelican's head on a platter...a sea food platter....Bowey Boy wrote:Stanley will get to play finals soon.

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
Why would he be traded at the time where the club is planning on hitting our peak? Yes we have developed Stanley for 6 or so years but what has he shown in that time?realdeal wrote:So we can develop him for the next 5-6 years and then trade him?LTN16 wrote:I now think we will Trade pick 1 to GWS for 4 & 7.

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
Think the Frawley compo really put a spanner in the works for a trade of pick 1 with gws, no certainty to get mccartin. Big deal to give up petrecca if you can't still get the player you are looking at. Maybe the dees can be friendly and tell us their draft board preferences haha.

Pelchen would trade 1 for 4,6,7 in about half a second.
As would I.
4 is marginally worse than 1 and then we get 6 & 7 thown in. Would have to get 2 good players out of that which is 100% more than 1.
Academic though as it wont happen. We will end up with the Pet Man imo.

Re: Prediction following Stanley trade
I'm not sure if a lot of my fellow Sainters and I have been watching the same player (Rhys Stanley) over the last four years or so. Rhys I'm sure is a quality guy off field, but unfortunately (unless I've missed something) for a big man he was easily muscled out of the game, far too often for my liking, and more often than not, could have done with showing far more aggression and hunger at the contest. I wish him well, but will not be holding my breath to see him get a premiership medal. It's always controversial at trade time, and hard calls have to be made, I personally think this is a good move, for all concerned.
