Re: Jake Lever
Cant find a link, but Melbourne said they are looking at getting a midfielder + KPD with 2&3.
Wont be surprised if Lever goes at 3.

If they said that it would definitely be him.SuperDuper wrote:Cant find a link, but Melbourne said they are looking at getting a midfielder + KPD with 2&3.

I feel a bit strange about a high pick going on an incredibly talented but slightly undersized KPD. If we had multiple picks, maybe but I'm much more comfortable getting our midfield or forwardline sorted.

Think that is way to high from those who know about this stuff.

Re: Jake Lever
He would have been a pick 3 or so but the knee makes him a lot less appealing. He could be the pick of the lot but just too many question marks when we need definites.
Re: Jake Lever
The couple of highlights vids around are the best of the lot. Caleb Daniel included.
If he stays fit, and there's no reason he won't, he'll be a star.
He'll be this year's Bontempelli.

I reckon Laverde takes that mantle this year.Sobraz wrote:The couple of highlights vids around are the best of the lot. Caleb Daniel included.

I heard "shifter" Sheahan say the other day that he was vying for the no.1 spot before he did the knee. Can obviously play. I think too much is put on injuries to 17-18 y.o's. Judd, Selwood, Heppel & co. all passed over due to injuries in TAC year. Young guys heal well. Clubs just need to back in their medicos more. Just my 2 cents....

Well.. they may bot be professionals but Paige Codona and "Knightmare" both watch a lot of TAC cup etc..plugger66 wrote:SuperDuper wrote:Cant find a link, but Melbourne said they are looking at getting a midfielder + KPD with 2&3.

Both have Lever at no. 3 in their phantom drafts posted on bigfooty, as of today (they may update of course... they do so semi-regularly)

Re: Jake Lever
Well this is why the recruiters are on the big bucks - to make these kind of decisions.
I mean any of us could pick the Pet man or McCartin. Lever looks like a freak talent.
Very fast and athletic and can do absolutely everything on a footy field.

Yep, looks a real footballer from the little I've seen. The turns out of trouble, the long sidways handpass in congestion, stuff you cannot teach..Con Gorozidis wrote:Well this is why the recruiters are on the big bucks - to make these kind of decisions.

Again I'll admit I know bugger all about the next crop, but I'd be elated if we could land him somehow..
I was against trading pick 1, but if a 1 for 4&7 got as Lever and another talent, then I guess it'd be the preference.

He's very Fisher like in the way he plays. He just reads the play so well he doesn't seem to play as a manned up KPP more a very liquid mover who cuts off the incoming ball and sends it back with intent. I haven't seen much of him but going on what I've heard.

3.2 is slow. But watch that video and hes way quicker than a 3.2.falka wrote:3.2 for speed 20 m aint that quick for a key back?? DOnt know?
Not sure where he is with his recovery - but my guess is that 3.2 was probably him only going at 80%. My understanding is he had only just finished rehab on that knee injury just before the draft combine. I would be very very wary in judging him on that draft combine. Good on him for turning up imo. I assume he turned up to say - hey im still here and im recovering well from the knee. I dont think he would have turned up to try and perform at 100%. Youd think all the recruiters will be aware of this.

Trade Radio saying Jake could go inside 5. Was Vic Metro Captain in 2013. Apparently a real pro off field.
