Re: Armo linked to Tigers
BS, You don't let go of 25yr old who seems to be ready to go to the next level.
Also Matt Finnis Denied pretty strongly that Armo wouldn't be going anywhere..

Their 1st pick is around 11 too much and their 2nd pick would be around 31 which is not enough.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: Armo linked to Tigers
If the Dons want more than just pick 16 for Ryder, then I don't think Armo for Pick 11 is absolutely out of this world, if they want him bad enough - To be honest I'd seriously consider that deal. Armo would be good for the tigers IMO. I like Armo when he plays well he tempts you into thinking he could play like greg williams and think he could go to the next level next year - but then again, he could also not, could still stay slightly inconsistent and play occasional blinders and occassional quiet games...i'd have an open mind with this one...happy to be disagreed with

Tend to agree. Picking over a carcass.oh when the wrote:We are starting to look like seagulls food.
We have to turn it into a positive. I wouldn't like to see Armo go. We've put a lot of work into him and it's been a bit of a slow journey but he's showing something now.
I get the feeling something big is brewing for us in the trade period. Wonder if this rumour is part of it ?

Re: Armo linked to Tigers
Given the demographics of our list there is 0% chance the club would look to trade out a 25yo hardened inside mid whose a potential captain.
If we trade Armo we might as well trade Joey, Jack Steven, Gears, Gilbo and start from scratch.

Re: Armo linked to Tigers
Well, not really...It would only be worth trading any of those players including Armo if the "bains trust" (whom are infinetly more wise than this forum) decide that another club values a player higher than they do and is willing to pay more (higher pick) than they think that player is worth ie: we win out!!MadSaintFan wrote:Given the demographics of our list there is 0% chance the club would look to trade out a 25yo hardened inside mid whose a potential captain.

I think thats the attitude they had last year and the attitude they will have this year. I think with the current environment of our rebuilding list - bar Rooey and any of the young guns, no player is off the trade table if the club think they can come out on top taking into consideration our list/age/games played demographic...
Re: Armo linked to Tigers
I like Armo and don't want to see him go, but if we could get pick 11 the club would be mad not to give it very serious consideration.
It's a shame ignorance isn't painful

Re: Armo linked to Tigers
Pick 11 seems fair to me. Hes a pretty good player. Hed be in their top 6-10 players.
No guarantee a kid picked 11 in the draft will get up to be a top 6-10 player at a club. None at all. Far from it.

Of course we would take it but they surely wouldn't give it. It would have to be a promising player and pick 31. We need him though so forget it unless just to good. If we lose Armo and obviously Lenny we cant finish lower but we can lose just about every game by at least 50 points. We cant afford to do that.

Armo offers Tigers needed midfield grunt
Armo should stay, i like Hallalj's point that @ 25 Armo could push up to another level. We need some maturity around the middle but the Tigers pick 11 would see them add a harder edge to their centre conundrums.PJ wrote:Their 1st pick is around 11 too much and their 2nd pick would be around 31 which is not enough.

Re: Armo linked to Tigers
Pick 11? Yeah, I'd probably do that. Has given us 100 games of service and that's a respectable pick we can use on somebody who will be part of our next generation of success.
Still, he has blossomed into quite a player, so that's the least I'd expect for him.
I don't think Richmond will give that up and I don't expect us to give him up.
Ryder's value is fried for all sorts of reasons; Esseondon, Asada, wants out, etc.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
