Brad Sewell???
Any takers??? Unrestricted free agent, looks like the Hawks have moved past him.
Goes against our overall draft strategy, but would he serve a purpose for a couple of years, "protecting" the younger mids like Lenny had been doing?? If we go by this years work, he wouldn't be taking a spot from a youngster.
Considering we missed Steven and Armo for large chunks of 2014, I'm concerned if that happens again next season.
Seems like he would be a decent role model for the younger guys.

Re: Brad Sewell???
errrrrrrrrrrrrr? I've got nothing but admiration and respect for young Brad Sewell, but no thanks, we'll go the way we're going, with youth the key to the future!

Re: Brad Sewell???
Remember this age ladder:
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/p ... 08cis.html
Of all 18 clubs in the AFL - we need another 30+ player like a hole in the head.
Basically he could end up anywhere but the Saints.

Re: Brad Sewell???
Well we just had Lenny retire so why have Sewell. He probably wouldn't want to come to St Kilda anyway. I know if I was in his position I wouldn't
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Brad Sewell???
I don't know about anyone else, but (at the moment) I do NOT want to see any more recruitment "gems like Polo, Fiora, Gardiner (Charlie), et al. The club have chosen to take a bold and somewhat daring direction in opting for youth. I say let's see it through!

I agree although I wouldn't overstate our innovativeness. Bulldogs, Brisbane, even Melbourne and GWS, GC have by and large gone for youth.thejiggingsaint wrote:I don't know about anyone else, but (at the moment) I do NOT want to see any more recruitment "gems like Polo, Fiora, Gardiner (Charlie), et al. top player could be great for a challenging team... not for us at this stage... unless we plan on a Hawk style rebuild.

I'm sure that before TOO long the footy world will be saying similar things about some of our kids!

Re: Brad Sewell???
Just not quite what we're after as we rebuild.
In about two years' time, sure. It'd be like taking Stephan Powell.
But it's not 2003; we're now about the end of 2001.
