Got on here thinking there would be a thread on this....firstly we teamed up with the scum pies!

Second our guys struggled big time but good on them for having a go. Lee, Peirce and Sippos.

Dal santo however was awkward and looked like that guy that dissects bodies! What's his name.? Von Hagens?

But no Essendon dancing to Purple Pills..

honestly the players review is just crap now days ... back in the day it used to be about the players taking the piss out of themselves having a laugh at how silly they were dressed and how poorly they danced .. now days they have one player to 5 professional back up dancers ,the players take it so seriously its hard to tell if its a player or just an average back up dancer .. honestly its just pointless now days ... however i stayed up a bit later and caught a bit of the NRL Footy show (i know stuff all about the NRL) and they had a sneak peak of their next week grand final show parodies and even though i didnt quiet get the joke on some of them it was a million times more entertaining then the AFL Footy show ...

For the life of me I do not understand why the player review is considered this amazing not to be missed event. It's talentless people (in that particular genre) performing dance routines heavily choreographed by professionals.

The only thrill (it seems) is when some player gets his gear off, and the mindless bimbos as well as the teenies in the crowd can shriek and squeal.

About as original as players turning up at end of season drinks in costumes.

Having said that, I only watch the footy show once a year these days, and turned it off just before the players review so I didn't have to watch it

Cringe worthy. The whole show was possibly the worst television I have witnessed in a long, long time. I generally don't mind the show, but how people fork out money to go and watch that crap live astounds me.

What about when they sang 'Happy Birthday' to Garry Lyon???? This is meant to be their best show of the year. Then they bring his dog on to predict the winner of the GF???

Incredible that anyone thought that this would pass as entertainment.

THEN they give the winner of Almost Footy Legends to a kid who kicks a goal on the run. They tell us that he kicked the winning goal in the dying seconds of the game. The kid ruins it at presentation by saying that there was at least a minute left on the clock and his team was miles in front at the time he kicked the goal. So really the winner was a selfish kid running the length of the field against an inferior opposition. I mean why give it to the brilliant marks or some of the hilarious things they showed beforehand?? Nah give it to a kid whose dad obviously lied about the circumstances of the goal. How embarrassing.

That means it will be 7-9am WST................ Means I'll have to be up around 5.30am to walk the hound, then drive down to Sth Beach Freo for my ritual Saturday morning swim and kiosk breakky......................... then home to watch Lenny

Sad what that show has degenerated into.

Originally they did what was thought impossible... an (often) inventive and highly entertaining footy show without any current footy vision... as Ch 7 then had the broadcast rights, and wouldn't release any footage to be used on the Ch 9 footy show.

Over the years it dropped away to the level of pathetic... but then it really started going downhill.

I soon stopped watching. But reneged and went back on my vow a few years ago, when they trumpeted a huge coaching announcement.

I (somehow) sat through over half that show... waiting... waiting... waiting...

Finally, their huge coaching scoop (their words, not mine) was revealed... Puffn' Billy Brainless was to be one of the coaches for the EJ Whitten game.


I will never watch that that lowest common denominator (and then some) crap 'show' again... regardless!









Ok, unless they run a story that the Sainta's are to (truly) resume playing home games at the Junction, and feature an interview with Pluggs about that wonderful happening.

Does anyone remember the Kai Ora Footy Show in the 40,s and 50's? Each team was on it for one night, and the players dressed up, danced, sang.part in idiot sketches etc. A few professional entertainers as well I think. I remember going with my parents to St.Kilda's effort.




Now you know where the Footy Show got the idea from.

honestly, same boring shyte rolled out, lost of 'in-jokes' that aren't funny and plenty of sucking up to Gary the flog. Brayshaw is utterly pathetic - supposed cricketer who gets his kicks hanging out with AFL names......

why no other mainstream channel hasn't taken this cr@p on head to head with a genuinely football related show I'll never know cause its dying a slow, painful death weekly. Probably take its turn to win another 'Logie' this year alternating with NRL........god we are a pathetic fish bowl.....

Crawford is just a punce lets face it and the player review.......please, its a tad old isn't it?? (I reckon most normal AFL players would cringe at it tbh......only the fringe players or those that fancy themselves as Kylie back up dancers take it seriously.....
