Did anyone else hear Brereton's swipe at us on RRR?
He was on the Party Show overnight along with Rohan Connolly and Stan "the man" Longinidis and was asked at the very end of the show if St Kilda had overtaken Essendon as his most hated side. He sneered, "nah, it has to be a worthy adversary".
I'm still amazed how he's held on to his media work this year.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

His opinions are irrelevant.
The greatest "Hindsight" commentator in the caper. Very easy to see why he never coached, unlike his football ability, coaching requires clear instruction and an ability to see something unfold, no point in shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.
I've never heard someone try as hard as he does to sound intelligent, takes more than eating a dictionary and finding 20 words to replace a 5 word sentence. Flog of the highest order!

However he does make dumb statements. Like he would coach the Saints because "they didn't have the cattle" about a season later we were in a Grand Final.

Knows football after the play has unfolded, then will dissect it and explain the obvious or how he would of done it better. His two written pieces prior to both Prelims are perfect examples of how he struggles to grasp / understand a situation before it happens...both were ridiculously far off the mark.Bunk_Moreland wrote:I like Brereton. A great footballer, sheer talent, strength and courage and knew how to seize the moment and impact the contest. Just cannot stand blokes who want to make a situation about them, we know he was tough and uncompromising on the field but to keep pushing his own barrow about how tough he was / is, I find nauseating. His comments about that bearded West Coast Eagle supporter verbally abusing Vickery, that he would of grabbed the bloke and dragged him over the fence, really???

Lost all respect for Brearaton when he cowardly king hit Danny Frawley 100 metres behind the play at the MCG in the mid 80's.
He snuck up from behind and smashed Frawley in the head, a dastardly, low life coward act.

Never accountable for the baloney he comes up with him, and has the perceived authority -- 5 day, 5 night -- to just shrug it off anyway.

I'm actually surprised that he didn't win a Melbourne cup.Waltzing St Kilda wrote:Never accountable for the baloney he comes up with him, and has the perceived authority -- 5 day, 5 night -- to just shrug it off anyway.

But this is a little known fact, seeing as 1925 was a fair while ago.

I find these discussions pointless, everyone has an opinion. Who cares?

As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Did anyone else hear Brereton's swipe at us on RRR?
I have a theory as to why Dermott hates us so much. Apparently, an unnamed Saints player gave him the nickname SOAP, which stands for son of a paedophile. You see Dermott's father was a low life, rapist of handicapped kids he used to drive around in his taxi. He gassed himself on the morning of his court case. That is all.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

If that is the case then I don't blame him. I hope it isn't.

The day Brereton knocked-out Frawley he was taunted about his (then) girlfriend who was on the front page of The Truth in an article about an alleged fling with well-known conman Peter Foster. Still, I have no sympathy for him.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

You're right plugger. No reflection on Derm himself. The sins of the father shouldn't be visited on the son. Still, that's what I've been told.plugger66 wrote:White Winmar wrote:I have a theory as to why Dermott hates us so much.
