So he has to be upgraded? Assume Weller is also upgraded.
Where does this leave the Schndeiderman?

Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
Stoked to hear Minchi has been offered an extension - a one year deal says show us if your committed and have upside!! I didn't realise the kid is still only 20! Surely thats young enough to still build his tank and keep building an AFL ready frame! Like his clean skills and explosive exceleration, has good power...fingers crossed he can really come on, learn to find more of the footy and have a good run without injury!

Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
I didn't realise you could give someone only a one year contract for their first year on the primary list?
2 year minimum for new draftees, must be different for upgrades.

Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
I think so!! Think the club would look seriously at keeping him on in a devlopment/coaching role, there he can point to players to do what he wants, all he wantsdragit wrote:Sinkin' cans like a legend.Con Gorozidis wrote: Where does this leave the Schndeiderman?
Always gets referred to as likely to be an excellent coach, good footy brain etc etc...
Then we can keep hearing him 'aks' ridiculous and sometimes funny questions on Schneiderman!!
Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
How is he only 20? Did he get rookie listed at 17? I thought 18 was the minimum age?
Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
Correct. He has a late birthday. December 9.FQF wrote:How is he only 20? Did he get rookie listed at 17? I thought 18 was the minimum age?

IMO his only chance to stay on will be for salary cap considerationsSaint wagga wrote:I think so!! December birth. So he just scraped in. i.e he was just 18 on January 1 at start of his first rookie footy season.
Despite being on the rookie list 3 years - hes still only young. Deserves another year to see what hes got.

From the few games he has played I reckon his upside looks promising. I hope he works so hard that he demands the opportunity to show it in more games.
It's a shame ignorance isn't painful

Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
Very happy with the news.
Though sad for schneiderman or whoever has to give way.
Why didn't his highlights clip show his giant stab-pass to Riewoldt?
That's what really sold me on him!
Can anybody find that clip?

Hi late season form for Sandi has most likely gained him one more year to prove his worth.

+1, moving to the midfield helped immensely, his VFL stats whilst playing in that position were pretty good.saintsRrising wrote:Hi late season form for Sandi has most likely gained him one more year to prove his worth.

Wrapped with this one. Silk.
Has to make 2015 count on a one year contract but can see him as a long term player. Has "it".

Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
So Minchington, Eli and Shenton all promoted
Lenny, Jones, Gwilt, Dunnell and TDL gone.
By my count, we need to delist or trade one more so that we can have the minimum 3 picks in the National Draft.

if the club wants 5 draft picks then 2 more will have to be either traded or delisted.

That gives you your three picks.
Don't be surprised to see Simpkin and Ray moved on, along with Schneider.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
Re: Minchington Commits to 2015
Minch needs to have a massive pre season and season — a one year contract heaps the pressure on him, I hope it will push him to new heights. He has the raw materials, but has he pushed himself to the limit? Not fit enough from my observations. Must fix this urgently.
