Players to Fremantle?
Lyon says:
"We're about sustained success. We've got a list management committee. There are plenty of mechanisms to attract talent. We'll draft, we'll look at free agency, we'll trade, and we'll improve."
(in this article: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-14/f ... again-lyon)
Any chance that he's got his eye on some Saints?
- Sam Fisher: I don't know Freo's list real well but they didn't have many tall defenders tonight, and McPharlin isn't signed for next year. Would Lyon consider reuniting Zac and Chips? Fisher's still a free agent isn't he?
- Leigh Montagna: Joey could look like an absolute superstar playing next to Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow, Crowley, Mzungu, Hill, etc - same as he did in our glory days. Lyon knows him and knows what he can expect there. Joey might like a final chance at a flag. Possible?
- David Armitage: I don't know if Freo's midfield really has that wrecking ball type. Maybe De Boer is closest to it? Could Armo add another dimension to an already strong side?
- Jimmy Gwilt / Tom Simpkin: Presumably he doesn't need more mid-size defenders, but again, I don't know his list that well.
- Clint Jones: Surely not?
The real question is, if any of these guys go - what would we get for them? Freo currently have picks 12, 33, 52, 70. Would we take 12 and 33 for Armo and our pick 21?

Re: Players to Fremantle?
Never trade armo, only joey I think they would want. Pick 33 doesn't seem enough once the compos come in , it will be more like pick 40

Leunberger contracted in 2015. So Freo would have to give up a bit to get him.
The only thing Freo dont need is a ruckman (They have a few - including Apeness)
They surely need a decent tall fwd?
Lyon recruiting Silvia and Gumbleton FFS.
At least Freo have a list mgt committee - i wish we had an independent list mgt committee during Lyons reign.
Might have saved us a world of pain.

I thought Apeness was more of a forward...Con Gorozidis wrote:dragit wrote:They probably get Leuenberger if Ryder goes to Brisbane I reckon.

Sandilands is close to finished and if Ryder goes to brissy they have Martin who has been unbelievable, west & Leuenberger who is from WA isn't he?

Re: Players to Fremantle?
Yep Leunberger is from WA but hes still contracted for 15.
Without Sandi - Freo still have a ruck division of
Moller (20)
Apeness (19)
Clarke (24)
Hannath (23)
Griffin (28)

Re: Players to Fremantle?
Think it might've been on the saints site berg.
Not sure 100% tho
Could be wishful thinking on my behalf
I'm at work at the moment.
Someone will check for us.

Re: Players to Fremantle?
Aside for perhaps one more key forward and one more key back Freo have a complete list. Yes, you can always upgrade a 7/10 player for a 9/10 player, but they have a premiership worthy list. Their midfield beggars belief.

Re: Players to Fremantle?
Why would they bother with him when you have someone as dominant as Sandilands. They also have Clark. They need a dominant forward to win a GF. Pavlich isn't the answer.dragit wrote:They probably get Leuenberger if Ryder goes to Brisbane I reckon.
Posting 20 years of holey crap!
Re: Players to Fremantle?
remember that war chest they had. best they could attract was daniel pearce, scott gumbleton and colin sylvia. they are a joke, no one of note willingly wants to go to freo and they never will.bergholt wrote:Lyon says:
