Great. He really finished off the season well after such a long time out.
I for one will be very glad that he is able to get those 2 extra games needed to run through the banner on his 200th for our club.

Showed hes still bloody good in that last month. The bloke loves an intercept mark. I think we were always going to only keep 2/3 of Gwilt Dempster and Fisher.
We simply couldnt keep them all on on the books and Sam's August meant it was the end for Gwilty.

Quality bloke, quality team mate. For some reason Chips is often thought as a loose cannon but I can assure you he is a quality bloke. If you are going tonight and get the chance ask any player. Ask Eli in particular.
Re: Contracts. Sam Fisher, one year.
So happy that he's playing at least one more year. They could have very easily delisted him given his age and the horror year he had with injuries, so hopefully he can repay the faith in keeping him on the books......players of his class don't come around that often so they're worth hanging on to for as long as they can.

Good news we need one old head in the backline
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"
Go Sainters !!!!!

I'll sign off on that. With Gwilt gone and god knows if Gilbert will get back in any meaningful fashion we need some experienced coverage back there.

Have never been Sam's biggest fan but this was a really good move
He finished the year strongly, body looks like holding up, we need him in his position.
Nice work Saints

Always been a gun and loves the Saints. He's the beat player we have in the backline. Hopefully stays right for the whole year.

Coming back, he is probably still one of the best zone-off defenders in the game. Furthermore, he can play key if need be.
There is a reason that every opponent he take always takes him to the square. Every opposition coach wants him out of the game....

Always thought he was a bit weak as KPP and have heard some unsavory things from sources RE off-field stuff that isn't worth sharing. The Redeemer wrote:How could you not be a big fan?skeptic wrote:Have never been Sam's biggest fan but this was a really good move

That being said, I certainly don't dislike the guy and am glad he's still with us

Fair call. He probably is a tool but in the end he is a great back for us.skeptic wrote:Always thought he was a bit weak as KPP and have heard some unsavory things from sources RE off-field stuff that isn't worth sharing. The Redeemer wrote:How could you not be a big fan?skeptic wrote:Have never been Sam's biggest fan but this was a really good move

So who are you are fan of?
Tom Ledger?
You seem to want to slag off everyone except players that the club has let go.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Hope he finishes his career off in the way he deserves.
Haven't stopped worrying about him, but wish him well.
