Slow news day Debate - Would Lenny...
Not much action on the club website or in the papers re: our list management so I thought I'd put this up for debate...Seeing as his decorated career has now come to an end I put the question to you SS followers...Would Lenny Hayes be in your St Kilda Team of the Century from the clubs centenary celebrations...if so, where does he play and who would go out...
Re: Slow news day Debate - Would Lenny...
Yes he would be certain as would Milne. Roo is obvious as well and Chips could also easily get in. The ones in trouble would be griffiths, Oswald, Lawrence, McNamara, Murray and maybe Ross.
Re: Slow news day Debate - Would Lenny...
yes...lenny is one of the all time great saints.....i would have to have a good look at the team before i could nominate someone to be omitted for lenny...not an easy matter....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

It's almost impossible to compare players from one era, against others.
Baldock would probably have trouble getting a game today - too small, too slow etc....... but a sensational player in his day!

Next you'll be saying Plugger wouldn't get a game because he couldn't run up the ground all day and his type of 'defensive pressure' (headlocks) is no longer ok.

Locket has his position covered. but if for some reason not in... what do you guys think about Gehrig? i know we hardly played enough games but he sure had a lot of influence while in the side and pulling power. like Plugger did.

Gehrig was an absolute delight to follow and support. What a forward line we had in those days with Gehrig, Roo, Kosi, Hamill (when fit), Milne.ShanghaiSaint wrote:Locket has his position covered. but if for some reason not in... what do you guys think about Gehrig? i know we hardly played enough games but he sure had a lot of influence while in the side and pulling power. like Plugger did.
