Will be interesting to see how the suitors react now given another knee reconstruction has been confirmed.

Horrible for him. And really fundamentally changes the trades-for-picks landscape. Wonder how this fits into the Pelican's spreadsheets ...

He might come back good as new and go on and have the career his talent says he should.

But then again he may be one of the unlucky ones whose body keeps failing him..

Tough time for the young guy, another year out.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

news had the Doggies prepared to offer him $900,000 - likely that offer will be off the table if theres acl damage again.
it also means the giants will be more reticent to lose either boyd or cameron. Their value will increase as Patton's drops.

Less likely they will let Cameron go now.

Highly unlikely to let any of their talls go next year.

Same knee as well - offer them a 4th rounder and take Petracca with pick 1 8-)

Changed the trade prospects with us dramatically, may need to look elsewhere. It gives us the extra season to see if Rhys and Spencer are going to make a good forward combination.
The dogs offer ( if true?), would certainly be off the table you would think.

Im unsure we or any other clubs had prospects anyway. All their talls have contracts. All it means is when there contracts finish we see all of them for an extra year bar Patton who will have 2 knee recontructions.

It also means we could get him cheap, looking forward to 2016.

This!

Petracca in the 2014 draft.

During the 2015 season we reassess our needs as to what they will then be, and then, target players accordingly in the 2015 trade and draft period.

I'd offer gilbert for patton straight swap .
Gilbo's got a few good years in him , patton may never play again !
If patton does it will be 2017 before he is actually capable of taking the game full on !

Make the end of the year easier - Petracca in the 2014 draft and see what comes of White, Lee and Siposs. Locks Boyd is as full forward for GWS next year. I feel more comfortable deciding of forwards in 12 months time. Who knows, if those three plus Bruce and Stanley come on we may be needing a backman more than a forward by then.

I rate Patton highly. really bad news for him!

2 knee recos and the other knee i believe was the knee which was the one he was sent to Europe to be operated on during his first season. Really feel for the young fella but wouldn't touch him or trade for him for anything more than a 3rd round pick . Look at Schwartz , he is a similar build and although came back and was serviceable he was pushing to be up there with Carey in mid 90's .
Bet Bulldogs are happy the mid season signings the AFLPA wasn't to bring in doesn't exist yet!
