Slipping Over
So what was it today with the number of times our guys slipped over, are they wearing the wrong footwear or what is the issue? If so who is im charge of what the boys wear. Cost us at least two goals today.

Re: Slipping Over
The slipping over wreaked of unprofessional preparation. Dis they all just bring one pair of boots or stops? No excuse.

Re: Slipping Over
I was watching in Adelaide so had no audio as the place I watched at only had Fox vision, so no idea if ground was wet or was raining in Sydney but just seemed chronic compared to Sydney. Would hate to think it was to do with only taking 1 pair of boots each. Surely that wouldn't be the case.

Exactly my thoughts too.....Jacks Back wrote:The slipping over wreaked of unprofessional preparation. Dis they all just bring one pair of boots or stops? No excuse.

Re: Slipping Over
They slip over a lot when they have to play on grounds where there is no roof to close and give them a non-slip environment, esp night games. So many slipped over recently in Qld compared with their opposition. Also rewatch the game in NZ and see how often Saints loose their footing c/f Brissie that night.

Exactly. Do people think this is a D grade Ammos side? All players would have about 4 pairs of boots. many hate stops because it hurts their feet. Also it huge skill to stay on your feet and we havent got a hugely skilled side.

oh when the wrote:If players not prepared with the right boots for the conditions, then yes.
They have the right boots. Some just dont wearing them. Rob Harvey never wore long stops because it hurt his feet.

But he didn't fall over.plugger66 wrote:...Rob Harvey never wore long stops because it hurt his feet.
Most boots these days have moulded stops and players have pairs with different lengths. However, the key to staying on your feet in wet conditions is to lower your centre of gravity. This means bending your knees more. It was something Robert Harvey did most of the time anyway, which is why he rarely fell over. It does require significant leg and core strength. And no panic. I reckon this last characteristic was responsible for a lot of our slips.

Re: Slipping Over
Exactly. What's more important - to wear footwear that provides a player a nice comfortable experience where their feet will feel pampered maybe even with a touch of luxury OR boots that let them perform the professional job they have been employed for - to execute their skills to the best of their abilities without slipping over every second time they go near the ball.plugger66 wrote:oh when the wrote:If players not prepared with the right boots for the conditions, then yes.

And you would be the first to complain if we had players going down with foot injuries because they wore boots that hurt their feet.Jacks Back wrote:Exactly. If their feet are hurting and the game is called football, you know, you use your feet to do things like run and kick a ball, how in hell how are they supposed to execute their skills to the best of their abilities?
Fair Dinkum some of you people are really clueless
You are garbage - Enough said
