Votes Saints V Dogs
Some reluctance here tonight. I'll take a shot at getting the prejudices flowing. It was a very even performance by all players with the exception of Jake Stringer.

5 Gilbert - his line breaking was a circuit breaker that got us back in it
4 Ross - knows how to get the footy - could still become a player
3 Steven - still a fair way off his best but looked more dangerous today
2 Rooey - again our only reliable forward threat
1 Montagna - worked hard to beat a tight mark

Re: Votes Saints V Dogs
Cant believe the love for Gilbo.
Yes he Broke the lines - but it came back with interest.
That one where did awesome play, broke a tackle had a sprint and then managed Robert Murphy on his own. Back over his head. Doggies goal. Summed it up for me.
Oh brother!
Anyway
5. Steven - not back to his best but always looked the most likely to do damage.
4. Gwilt - kept us in it and sparked our resurgence
3. Weller - i liked his game
2. Dempster - made some errors but his marking was amazing
1. Seb Ross - Hes getting better
Honorable mentions - Rooey, Armo and Fisher were all good.

I know its pedantic and who cares. But I think Jesse Stringer plays for Geelong. Jake plays for the Woofers. I dont think they are related.saintbrat wrote:interestingly the Age journo went

Re: Votes Saints V Dogs
I only watched the first half of the delayed game so can't really give votes lol. Was disappointed in the result and the way we played early. It's one thing to be smashed by a top team but getting beaten by another shite team is annoying. We may as well fast track to Mad Monday and start the dwarf bonfire - over to you CJ

Re: Votes Saints V Dogs
David Armitage - involved in almost everything
Sean Dempster - solid in defence
Sam Gilbert - good return with some excellent line-breaking
Farren Ray - solid again
Jack Billings - developing nicely
However... anyone over 6 foot who lets a mark just slip through their hands need remedial work in the off-season! Too many broken (arm) tackles - get your bodies in there. Poor field kicking... too slow for opponents... where do I stop. A sorry performance worthy of the wooden spoon. Very little pride shown on the day.
