Re: Match thread v Blues
I am away and lucky enough am unable to get the match on telly or radio - joeys and jack Steven look to be having shockers by the stats - Savage an weller really look to be building on their other good recent performances -- anything else we can hang a hat on ????

We know we are poor..we should have expected todays result so I guess continually bagging our team sort of makes you look a bit stupid.

Re: Match thread v Blues
No one worse than Ross...seriously he needs to get it 40 times to make up for all the run he gives the opposition re he is slow and does not try to get theremagnifisaint wrote:Saints don't work hard enough
Re: Match thread v Blues
Exactly. Who would perform in our forward line atm. Look at the delivery, and the delivery is due to opposition pressure, which is due to our lack of midfield presence. We also lost it at the selection table, TC should of played and so should of Bruce, we also look better with Hickey in the side.jonesy wrote:Far to many plodders in the middle, can blame the likes of Gwilt and stanley all you like, but the end of the day when you have an overdose of plodders that rarely touch the ball it reads as a disaster. Then combine that with our two best run and carry midfielders who are supposedly elite having both under 10 possesions, it's lucky we aren't playing a good side...it would be 120 plus right now

I dont think they are coached properly, if Paul Roos was head coach, we could be in the top 8!

Re: Match thread v Blues
Probably one of the most abysmal efforts from a collective midfield in the modern era.
Dunstan has utterly hit the wall and lucky to keep his spot after his stunning first month
Seb Ross has played one good game in his career. Not up to it most weeks, and today is no exception
Steven- Can't free wheel on his own this year without a tag
Montagna- Lost interest, playing like Dal last year and BJ before, so history suggests he knows he's going to be elsewhere next year
Hands down the worst performance of the year, lucky for that 10 minute patch in the second

Top player selected still needs to be youth.sainters85 wrote:surely we gotta pickup some mature age players during the free agency periodWinnersOnly wrote:The whole club has shut down for 2014 playing for draft picks only!
Great timimg Saints in one of the weakest draft years for sometime!
Or perhaps we a playing for dunbest football club of the last 20 years award.
Deplorable skills, lack of spread, a midfield who collectively couldnt run out of sight in the dark, older players who have given up.
Others may be older but would still prefer youth.
Going for mature players is still very risky. Remember what has happened here with loss of 2 good players like Goddard and Dal Santo. We haven't recovered and wont with just 2 average mature age players.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Match thread v Blues
PATHETIC SAINTS. Thanks for making me feel good in 2nd q and then surrendering in a PATHETIC fashion in 2nd half. Thanks for 10 losses in a row. Bring on 2015 scos nothing can be as bad as what we are copping in 2014.

It comes to effort. Continually led to the ball. Have a look at the uncontested marks 120 to 60.

Re: Match thread v Blues
Considering that Carlton at present are a rubbish team, that was the SOFTEST performance I can ever recall seeing from a St Kilda team.
Now wonder the Blues kicked so few behinds.
No attention to the basics. No thinking. No workrate. Absolute rabble I am ashamed to say.
Quite shattering really.
