But chook, in the replay

Eddy had broken bones
Bakes hadn't recovered from dropping a bowling ball on his foot and being completely cooked from his first game back
Mini was out of form

Guys Armo and Gearys age shine like beams, sidebottom
Flipside the pies fullback puts his hand up and says he isn't right
We play guys who's form didn't justify inclusion and Leon Davis is dropped

Wait for plugger66 to say, you didn't say anything then

But this is a retrospective discussion following a retrospective analysis OTC

Sheahan asking questions he already knows the answer to, knew Ross was down the mine financially common knowledge Healy knows it too.Compare Stkilda to the father & son players to the one's Geelong were gifted is laughable the drop will come but not as great because of one person Stephen Wells who has picked the right player available Outstanding recruiting.
Elshaug & Bains are doing great job at the minute if I was looking for someone to help them it would be Matt Rendall.
Recruiting the right player is the key and most difficult thing to do in the AFL.
All saints supporters know we drafted poorly for 4 years average 50per cent retention in AFL Saints are mid 20.
Hence the big drop rather than softer landing.

comparing Armo/geary with beams/Sidebottom............at that point in time/or now........hmmm.......geary a plodder at best.(still the case).....armo had played 3 of 22 in 09...9 games in 2010

Absolutely full credit to the Saints.

Highest ranked team in terms of ladder position over a 10 year period. Sadly, no flag to show for it - but certainly had a crack at it.

Now, the club has set in motion a plan to do it again. They've made some massive calls and already started the call rolling again.

I think it's a massive credit to them.

Well I think we are in a HUGE hole that we will be lucky to get out of this decade.

Having said that, I will continue to buy my membership, go to games, support my Saints and keep my nerve.

Until STKFC doesn't exist, I will be on board.

Yes we are in for hard times, yes it is disappointing, yes it will be frustrating, but hey, its is for life

What is the difference between Baker and Geary?

Both excellent, but limited, players who have reached the level they have/did by hard grunt and discipline. Both are RL type players. Bot can/could play roes, but will never be stars.

Nettlefold could have and should have had the deal done early in the season. His differing kept the door open, and Fremantle eventually pounced.

Quite balanced and with good interviews.

Hutchy more honest than AT IMO.

Personally the Footy First and Westaway coup, along with 4 years of dreadful drafting were the two biggest problems the club has had.

Ok, well here is your full sentence then. It actually makes no sense at all as written.

It needed a comma admittedly, I'm just emphasing young legs significant against our weary/injured ones.

You do try and twist everything into Geary being a plodder.

It's strange you plucked that (yet again) from quite a few points I made

No way are they on par, but they were young and fresh.

We chose to play guys with fractures over them

We had a lot of injuries at the time. ie Steven would have been good but was injured. Armo at the time was injured too. He only played 3 and 9 games in 09 and 10...so hardly would have been our saviour.

The GF replay many of our players were too sore to play at their best.

Eddy and Geary at the time were about equal. Eddy had matured physically earlier.

RL's gameplan was the ultimate team game and he favoured players that could execute it. No RL gameplan, no making GFs in two years.

IMO his gameplan masked our many flaws, and gave us an edge that other clubs struggled to overcome.

We are also a worse team now as the strategy is to bring in more young talent. This has made us easier to beat. That plus a very bad injury run this year.

Whether this will succeed, or not, will depend on whether we draft well, and if we develop that young talent well.

The alternative is to do a Carlton...and just hang around the middle reaches of the ladder. You win more games, but are no chance to be a power or to win a GF.

Which pat one prefers is an individual choice. But as fans we have little choice but to buckle in and watch what develops.

Who were the dickheads who agitated for the removal of Rod Butterss and the spill of the board? That turned out to be a real winner.

Yes it is and in reprospect we would have still been smashed in the replay. Also in reprospect maybe RL may have made changes. Pretty hard to defend himself when isnt actually on the site. And i still say if these things stood out then why werent they mentioned by more than a few back then. My answer would be we were pretty confident in RL coaching and most on here thought we could win the second game. By the way some you menyioned hadnt played for a few weeks. Did the magpies seconds players make the finals?

that was the last bit of his comment on Lovett

Did anyone like Nettledfold?

Gwilt, Armitage & Geary were all emergencies over 09/10 grand finals, he didn't play those at his disposal

Greg thought the issues arising from Watters changing te ethos of the club were to be expected, deserved another year
you can see who was friends with who..and who is now a bit of a bum licker......can't we hutch...???

I recall Lovett came with glowing references from Sheedy and Hird. That alone should have been sufficient warning not to proceed!
