Spud Frawley
Apologies if this has been asked before. I searched the forum but came up blank. I heard word tonight at the football that all is not well with Spud's health? I haven't heard anything but had noticed he had not been on Fox Footy for a couple of weeks. If true, I hope all is well with the Spud. Great bloke.

I also wish Danny well and hope he recovers to full health.
He was a great captain, played 200+ games and was a dour full back. Will always have a soft spot for ol' Spud.

Re: Spud Frawley
Looking at BF and joining the dots it could be depression of some degree. I know someone who worked very closely with Spud and said he is a top bloke. Top Captain of the Saints - right up there with Rooey, same love and passion for our team. We all should wish him a quick recovery.

Yes, this is what I heard also. A common illness that is eminently treatable. Hope he's back on his feet soonsaintspremiers wrote:Looking at BF and joining the dots it could be depression of some degree.

I hope it didn't have anything to do with that turkey of a bloke Patrick Smith having a go at him for joking around on Fox Footy when he was the prez of the coaches association.bigcarl wrote:Yes, this is what I heard also. Re: Spud Frawley
Thanks so much for posting this. Our family feels Spud is a friend because of his easy going on screen persona. I have heard that this is the real Danny Frawley.bigcarl wrote:Yes, this is what I heard also. A common illness that is eminently treatable. Get well soon Spud people like you make the world a better place.
I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Re: Spud Frawley
couple of references in inside football in recent weeks to trouble at fox footy, bullying and some people taking on more than they can handle...intimated that a bullying lawsuit was on the cards......not sure any of this relates to spud but it may well do.......
journos pry into everyone else's lives but keep their own problems in house.....
all i know for sureis that fox is not a happy place atm....

Dont get the Plugger reference. Isnt this about Danny Frawley. Also i would be pretty sure many journos know about about the issues, if they are some, with Danny but are choosing not to report it so I dont that last line either.

Re: Spud Frawley
I just hope it isn't depression. Probably the worst of all afflictions. If it is, I hope the spud gets all the support he needs.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

All the best to Spud. If it is indeed depression it's not to be taken likely. Recently lost a mate to the affliction..

Maybe our banner this week should read: "All the best Spud"
Simple and effective.

With this level of public comment growing, it would seem appropriate that a formal comment/quote be made from Spud's side. It will put any innuendo's to rest.

Out of all the Richmond coaches during their still current dismal era which has lasted since '82, Spud was one of two (the other Northy) who got the best out of them.thejiggingsaint wrote:I love the guy! Even when he was coaching the Tigers

To satisfy the gossipmongerers?
His "ill-health" is family business, and private.
