who am i...?
. i played 50 odd games for the saints after coming from carlton.
. i was more of a utility but the saints used me as a key position player
. john kennedy once described me as the best mark in the competition
. i injured my knee in my state debut for victoria in 1983.
. injuries cut short my career and forced me into retirement.
. i stayed on at the saints in an advisory capacity to help my mate ken sheldon.

who am i.?

. i was a quality footballer when the saints had few players worthy of that tag.
. i played mainly at CHF and in the ruck
. i won three best and fairest for the saints
.i took up coaching at 26 years of age and left a huge gap in the saints lineup.
...i will provide more clues if the punters are struggling
. i played just under 150 games for the saints

Fantastic reminiscences guys.....a little younger than you but I also frequented the JO during that time...apart fom a 3 year enforced sojourn in Tassie during 61-64 (father transferred in his job) ......I remember listening to the game on the 'wireless' when Stevo did his knee.....was devastated....also remember collecting bottles to make money (also in Tassie)....Billy Young was one of my favourites along with Neil Roberts.....great days!

. i last had a beer with stinger at my longford pub in march 1965 during the 30th australian grand prix......
true...
...dad had brought him to our house probably around 1950....he gave me a football...which i promptly lost at school after someone kicked it over the school fence....
i was a pit marshall at that grand prix....... the race was won by bruce mclaren in a cooper/climax....brabham was second in a similar car........i saw aussie driver rocky tresise and a photographer killed right in front of me.....sad...very sad....

who am i?
. my club of origin was the geelong under 18's
. i was a 196cm key position player
. i was a top 20 draft pick for the saints.
. i only got to play one game.
. i ended that game with perfect statistics....0 kicks, 0 marks, 0 handballs.
