Yeah I'm watching, and I called as a free straight away. You have to make a better effort especially when your body is facing the umpire and he has a clear view.terry smith rules wrote:Are you watching, no prior opportunity and he did try, the ball was pinned, if that is going to be paid everytime we wil have 120 frees a gamekosifantutti wrote:Doesn't matter if he made no effort. Why. What did i say that was wrong? Or are you just losing it? Well coached today. Playing exactly as a side with our ability should play against a top side.

When players get tired, the skill level can drop.
Second efforts become slower, which magnifies the effect of mistakes.
If the Saints' errors were bad before half time...how bad will they be after?
Power is reknowned as a very fit team.
4 goals now, I think our final score will be below 10 goals.
Power will tighten up, and their precision will cut us like Jamie Oliver slicing an onion.
Will bring tears to the eyes as well.

Thoughts
Midfield is working very hard, bit stiff umpiring wise and the usage has been terrible. But after a flat start they worked themselves into it. Focus needs to keep being winning the clearances. Some of the spread in the second quarter was a lot better.
mav weller will make it, can shut down a player but also finds it very well. Him, seb ross and dustan will become very good once we surround them with good outside users. CJ close to finished. Saunders and mozzie working hard in forward line in that second quarter.
Backline holding up, always difficult with ball coming down fast. Would like to see the likes of bruce encouraged to go for their marks long term.
Longer is being killed but bloody hell he is young and it's great experience. But needs to use his big body better in marking contests. Spread is also a issue.
Need a crumber, mozzie aint that. Oh for a milne type.
Structure is interesting, chicken and egg. Extras down back keeping us in it? No one to kick to allowing them to rebound too much?? Would like us to back the boys at some point and go man on man if it's close.
Lee very good. Pressure and marking excellent.

It's irrelevant how many goals we got from frees if they should be paid.plugger66 wrote:SaintPav wrote:Take a week off.plugger66 wrote:This will be popular. If a 50 is a free we have 3 goals out of 4 from frees and they have one out of 7. The holding the ball looked wrong to me.

I thought both Rooy goals were from frees or 50. Stand corrected one all then. Sorry I was out by one.

Not to mention a non 50 metre penalty to Dunstan where the Port player clearly ran between him and the player on the mark.
Still 3 goals down at half time, think we all would have taken that m

How does Dwayne do this game when he called us a dud club yesterday, and played for Port? Recipre for being one-eyed. Or at least ignoring our stuff.

Re: Match Thread - Saints v Port
The other noticeable thing is that Port Adelaide have two unmanned players at the back of the stoppage a few metres back.
We have not picked them up at any stage.
