Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
Shake things up a bit.
Bit rough on Sip, I'm a fan and want to see him do well, but obviously not doing what's asked of him.
Think Curren has flown under the radar a bit and on the whole had been pretty poor.
Hope Lee steps up like he did in the latter part of last season.

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
Odd changes. Is Longer going to ruck on his own? Who can help out, Bruce (197cm). It's strange.
Siposs didn't really deserve to be dropped in my opinion. Seemed to be gaining confidence.
Curren deserves a rest, and hasn't really set the world on fire. I know Richo likes to talk up his tagging feats, but they haven't been anything better than okay.
Simpkin as a defender is coming in to replace who? Were we short a defender? Is he going up forward? Is Bruce going up forward?
Happy for Lee and Dunell but tactically hard to understand.

Pleasingly, Maverick Weller and Luke Delaney have passed their respective fitness tests and will play against the ladder leaders on Saturday.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Probably the most interesting inclusion however is Tom Simpkin, who Richardson indicated may be used as a defensive forward as well as down back against the Power this weekend.
Curren, Siposs and Stanley have been named as emergencies, with the latter two set to play VFL on Saturday, while Curren will provide cover and travel with the team to South Australia.

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
AR was not happy with the lack of fwd pressure
Saunders, Simpkin bought in for that.... But out goes offensive skills
CJ
Come on Alan... Rather TC, Arryn, Markworth or Dunnell?
Not exactly sure about what he's giving ATM?

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
A fwd line with Lee Roo Stanley and Siposs in it would be diabolical in terms of fwd pressure.
So I guess if they wanted Lee in someone had to go.
Felt Sippo is worth persisting with - but hes contracted next year so no panic stations.
Stanley needed the proverbial rocket. I imagine when they watched the replay and did the review some of Stanleys 'efforts' would have been highlighted. Sippo is a good player - but his fwd pressure is non-existent.

Another FOOT injury...
Schneider listed as out with FOOT injury...perhaps thats why he was ordinary last week. But how many foot injuries do we have to have before someone realises there an issue?

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
Armo will be a little low on conditioning for this game. Port will try and run us into the ground.
Dunnell is a good in against Port and clearly we are going to try something different against them with Simpkin in.

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
Tony, are you still on-line?
Any idea what Sippa did wrong? Forward pressure was mentioned, but from the (limited) panorama offered via the telly, I thought I saw enough tackling from him(?)
And offensively, and from very limited opportunities, I thought he was very promising, and also showed real signs of regaining his confidence...? Very disappointing.
Lee... I really rate him, but is his body ready yet...?
Oh well, lets see if Tom Simpkin can channel Arron Hamill.
(What's the bet he does... but then tweaks his knee and is out for two weeks?)

Surely if he's fit he plays. Is he playing at Sandy?tony74 wrote:No.FQF wrote:Is Armitage still injured?

If Armitage isn't fit, which other midfielders do we have at the moment to replace Jones? I can't think of any.

Re: Team vs Port Adelaide- Sat 7/6
Look at the tackles from Stanley and Siposs last week. 0 and 0. Lee trained super well today, reckon he's ready. Armo blowing hard, couldn't do any running when his knee was infected. Team will monitor the weather, could always be a late change. Schneider didn't train last 2 days.Dave McNamara wrote:Tony, are you still on-line?
