The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Don't understand the use of Jones as a sub, he shouldn't be in the team if this is the only spot for him.
We should be playing kids as the sub, rather than giving it to Jones....

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
I think at this point in the season - I would much rather seeing Dunell or Simpkin out of the emergencies for CJ's sub role. I have loved his 'all heart' effort - but we must now be looking forward.saintbob wrote:Don't understand the use of Jones as a sub, he shouldn't be in the team if this is the only spot for him.

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
Poor choice for Sub IMO
Even if he does come on and use legs to get 10 in a quarter.... Will they hurt that much? Not so sure
I like Saunders as a sub.... Maybe Dunell for his smarts a and versatility or Savage

Saunders, Dunell & Savage aren't in the selected side..BigMart wrote:Poor choice for Sub IMO

Good sub imo, shows Jones is near the fringes.

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
Terrible sub choice. Either a player like him is in from the start or right out. What's the point of him as sub?Sobraz wrote:Saunders, Dunell & Savage aren't in the selected side..BigMart wrote:Poor choice for Sub IMO

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
Experience and flexibility. Having a newbie as sub is nuts. That's obvious.Jacks Back wrote:... What's the point of him as sub?
Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
What flexibility?
Can he play as a lock down back... No ... Weak in the air
Can he play as a dangerous fwd ... No
Can he play as a damaging mid .... He will find the ball, not so damaging.
Can he play a lock role .... Yes
Can he play as a defensive fwd... Yes
I would suggest a sub needs to come on and take advantage of tired legs.... Not sure CJ will hurt too much.
His asset is great effort, which cannot be questioned
If he were a talented player, he'd be a champion

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
Maybe they see him as an emergency for an injury. If Murdoch or seb are struggling he can take the spot off them also. The need for a burst sub might be irrelevant as we ned to just put development time into kids not win.

Jones subbed in early due to that dog act by Sidebottom on Weller

Re: Grundy & Swan out CJ sub!
Jones should not be in the side had enough seen enough .
We don't have a midfield ... Steven not fit enough Hayes is finished anyone who says different are you kidding ?
Great player but finished.
Selection poor again ..Schneider should be the sub nearly every week .
Play Dunnell
Play Markworth
We are not learning anything playing the same players in the same positions week in week out
Expect to lose but we have play Simpkin & Sipposs as key forwards try it nothing to lose
Stanley is trade bait for GWS they need 2nd ruck we need mids.
Murdoch is a plus keep playing him all year

Bye Jones. Can't expect to get a game next week on that effort.
Posting 20 years of holey crap!
