Blokes who love playing us
Having watched and read various commentators getting stuck in to Travis Cloke, and knowing as sure as night follows day that he will play a blinder this week and kick 5 as he always does.. It got me pondering which players love playing the saints the most.
Jack Reiwoldt is obvious and probably wins the prize. Two weeks ago Yarran had the same game he always has against us after a lean run of form. Gaz jr was held once or twice by CJ a few years ago and I think now goes out of his way to play rediculous footy against us. Jobe, much like his dad, always seems to pull out something special against us, though this year was an obvious exception. Any other nominations?

Re: Blokes who love playing us
Jobe and Jack R normally have a blinder games against us especially over a longer period of time.
Other mention have had good games too, but not over the same time frame.

Re: Blokes who love playing us
Judging by our last few games, any opposition midfielder will star against us- by the time our mids rub the sleep out of their eyes and have a yawn, the first quarter is lost already. Expect Pendles and Swan to have huge stats by quarter time this week.

Argh, don't get me started on that little squib! He would have a picnic every time he played against us. I think it was 1998 when we were leading all day and he chimed in for a lazy three or four goals in the final quarter to get them over the line. He always had that s***-eating grin on his face which would add to the general feeling of being aggrieved.Con Gorozidis wrote:Off the top of my head

Re: Blokes who love playing us
Recently, Jack Riewoldt and pretty much any big-bodied forward.
But even at our best, and with RL as coach (and his questionable game plan?), I remember we had trouble against all the rebounding halfbacks.
Harbrow kept getting close to 40 possessions against us in consecutive games, Thomas, Shaw and O'Brien were collectively getting 90 possessions against us on a regular basis, the Geelong halfbacks kept rebounding everything and racking up easy possessions.
Also, Jobe Watson kept averaging close to 40 possessions against us, regularly (and we kept losing to lowly Essendon).

Jack Riewoldt has been prominent. Watson yes.
Taggers have good records against us
Kirk had Lenny's measure.... I think Kane Cornes too?
Dal couldn't be effective against Ling, Carrazzo and Crowler

Re: Blokes who love playing us
Wayne Carey (favorite opponent was either Wakelin he has said)
Brereton (at the Hawks)
Jarman (in Grand Finals)
Dustin Fletcher
Doug Hawkins
Bartel
David King (is more likeable as a commentator surprisingly - hated him as a player)
Glen Archer (smashed us to smithereens - ask Lenny about the biggest hit he ever copped from his first game)
Jonathan Brown (in his prime)
Brett Heady (and those molehill biceps of his)
Ben Cousins (at Eagles)
Ablett Jnr - but he likes playing everyone (Don't remember senior ever tearing us apart thank God)
Port Adelaide (whole team prior to 09)
Jobe Watson
Shaun Burgoyne
Jack Watts (only joking)

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
