thank God we aren't Richmond
for all our woes we have none compared to the rabble that the Richmond FC has become over the last 30years.
From a club who for a decade were one of the best teams in history .......... to yesterday
In all my time following football that was one if not the worst loss ever... inexcusable

Wonder when was the previous time their supporters cheered for a minute?

27.13 to 4.6 on May 3rd. Wonder what Tiges supporters were discussing about us? I'd still take witnessing a premiership any day. Watched 1980 with my Tiger mates that day as a 12 year old, still remember KB and Cloke going off. No one can take that away from them. Our 20 to late 30 year old fans would agree they have been a rabble. I see it a bit differently. Tiger mates still remind me about that day in 1980. Regardless of how awful they have been since, they have that memory. I don't. Still envious.

I've actually seen more Grand Final wins by Richmond than the Saints. 1967, 1973, and 1980.
A bit sad really.

Re: thank God we aren't Richmond
Its a lesson on how drafting is not the be all and end all to success.
There is a thread by BigMart about targets re established players which is, in my opinion worthwhile looking at.
Good drafting PLUS canny trading is a far better formula.
Look like Richmond will burn another coach as well. Hardwick wont last out the season unless the Tigers have a radical turnaround.

You are garbage - Enough said
Re: thank God we aren't Richmond
Glancing at their draw I reckon they could win nine more games from here if they hit some form. They could storm home with 5 of the last 6. That'd be 11 wins overall which would be about enough to have them finish 9th again. I wonder if they'd keep Hardwick in that situation?NeXtmess-stringer wrote:Look like Richmond will burn another coach as well. Agree with that. And I'm glad that's what our list management team are doing. Access as many early draft picks as possible for the next few years, then start looking at free agency.NeXtmess-stringer wrote:Its a lesson on how drafting is not the be all and end all to success.

Will Worsfold coach the TIges?
Will Voss get another go at it?
Blues and Bummers will be looking for a coach in the next two years as well.

Re: thank God we aren't Richmond
A big week for em....distracting I reckon but also would have been a motivation for the Dees to be involved in that game also.
Re: thank God we aren't Richmond
I agree 100% 8856brother. I'm 51 so I feel your pain brother. As I state in my signature regarding our wooden spoons, I had to live through all of that and will never forget it. It's funny, before the Carlton game everyone was telling me that we were going to win because we 'always' beat Carlton. If only they knew. Supporters my age or older would love to be as 'bad' as Richmond and Carlton'.8856brother wrote:27.13 to 4.6 on May 3rd. Wonder what Tiges supporters were discussing about us? It was lucky Hardwick didn't turn up to Tommy's funeral or it might have been a double header.
