Re: Carlton Game Thread
lol at all the plonkers ridiculing players, all these kids will take at least another season to get going.
Get used to losses, plain and simple.
Quality draft picks on the way..the cheating w^&%s are going no where.

Re: Carlton Game Thread
Bring back Watters, this bloke has no idea of defensive coaching AT ALL- no sign of any system. All I can see good out of this game is promise from Bruce, Delaney, Billings, Acres, Weller and Dunstan. Why on earth would AR sub Acres who was playing reasonably well instead of Siposs or Stanley? Stanley has no future on tonight's wimpy effort

Re: Carlton Game Thread
Wouldn't mind seeing both Lee and Bruce go forward at times. Bruce ultimately will be centre half back but he is needed forward now. Stanley needs to improve his footy skills or we may have wasted our time with him. Always thought he would come good but the occasion al game is not sufficient to do this 1 in 3 or 4 games.MC Gusto wrote:Been impressed with Bruce
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Re: Carlton Game Thread
Siposs needs to have a look at the workrate of #2 for Carlton in the forward line- work hard off the ball, run hard, present. Basic footy stuff, but I don't think Siposs has the goods and he'll be a goner..oh yeah..Ray terrible, Montagna ordinary, Jones tried hard, Steven a shocker- is he fully fit?jonesy wrote:Ray? Re: Carlton Game Thread
Bit confused, a good 6-8 first 22 are out, we have tons of players with less then 20 games. Billings is exciting, acres plays like a footballer already. Dunstan in a manchild. Longer so raw but exciting in patches. Sipposs game something as the game went along. Delaney looks the goods at full back. Bruce getting games into him.
Lets be honest, if you have been told we would be missing so many players at the start of the year you would all be saying "we will win 2-5 games".,,, we are on track for that. I am as frustrated as everyone else but can see the trees from the forest. BTW The game is losing me with that free for the runner. Common sense dictates the only player he effected was his own. Umpire made himself look STUPID!!! Sick of that and players going down looking for frees

Re: Carlton Game Thread
They at least had a crack. Carlton arsed a few and had some assistance in the first half. Schnider was terrific, Lenny and Joey were themselves, Jack looks like a lack of a preseason has caught up with him. Jones tireless. Billings and Dunstan are worth watching games for. Acres looked like he was suffering with the extra pace at first but the nerves seemed to drop just before he was subbed off. Dempster is the most underrated player in the AFL. I thought in the first half we looked like we had no forward line and our backs looked inexperienced. Shenton, Bruce, Webster, Newnes and Delaney wouldn't have 100 games between them. Then we had Billings, Acres and Dunstan who haven't played 20 between them and you understand why we made a few errors. Big Billy Longer is a goes and has great second efforts. He will be good long term.

I agree with your sentiment. Disagree on some of the players you thought had good games, but hey, you are entitled to your opinion, and good on you for your positivity.gringo wrote:They at least had a crack. We were too inexperienced so get rid of the rest of the experience...I like your unusual logic. Then we get higher picks. Then we get rid of all the guys over 22 every year and just keep stockpiling youth forever. We won't play good footy but we will always have the coolest hair cuts.
