Re: Can we end the Maister experiment please....
Wasn't the worst today. They hardly got it forward when he was there and then he and Delaney were under bombardment. the kicks into the forward line when they did come often went to an unmanned crow. Just a down game nothing to panic about. They looked really tired. I thought the good thing was a few of our new guys were very good at breaking away and marking which is what the Crows were doing with ease.

Re: Can we end the Maister experiment please....
Midfield was our biggest issue today...that and no pressure down the centre corridor.
Hindsight would suggest that Bruce should have been given a run today. But midfeld, midfield, midfield...

It's obvious that he is not good enough and he wasn't great but there were plenty of others.
It would be nice to see Lee, Siposs and White step up.

Maister is not some villainous mutant that has gotten free of Richo's experimental lab. Yu know what you are going to get from him - effort, pack crashing, ball coming to ground, very few marks and fewer goals. He's not the future, even he would know that. Next week I would give Tommy Lee a go. It's not an all or nothing decision about him though. He will give you some things, other things he won't give you. You weigh it up considering who are the others players coming through that have earnt game time in the big show or still need to be developed and protected from the brutality of AFL footy.

Not good enough but he wasnt the issue today. if Lee plays we lose by the same amount except he is under pressure.

Agree P66,but difference is Lee is a accurate kick on goal.Maister really needed to kick that set shot he had.Heaven knows we cant afford to miss them

Been sitting near them since 2001. Schwarze, McQualter, Fiora, the list goes on. They have a whipping boy and they spend pretty much the entire match heaping abuse on them, regardless of what they have or haven't done in a game.Megsie wrote:To the 2 feral so called females who sit in aisle 36

He needs to build some confidence in the VFL, kick a few bags & present himself again. I feel for the bloke as you can see he is busting a gut.
If roo gets injured, we'd need Maister as a mature body up forward.

Thought I read Lee kicked 3 goals 5 at Sandy. Unusual for him. Big positive is that had 8 shots I suppose. Time for him to get a gig.bergsone wrote:plugger66 wrote:Not good enough but he wasnt the issue today. if Lee plays we lose by the same amount except he is under pressure.

At least we know what we're going to get with Maister - absolutely nothing.

Re: Can we end the Maister experiment please....
Is it more a case of structure over an adequate replacement. At some stage if you aren't able to do the basics relevant to your position then surely your place in the side must be questioned not matter what. Surely the selectors are thinking about taking a risk on a replacement. Fisher to go forward maybe.evertonfc wrote:Sanest comment of the thread.Saints43 wrote:I don't like Maister being in the team either, but someone has to take his place. Not be given it.

I still find it very difficult to bend my head around how Maister is on our list but Tom Lynch isn't.
Just an absolute head shaker.
Lynch's situation is one reason why Ill never fully respect Lyon's time at our club.

Re: Can we end the Maister experiment please....
Without knowing how well Lee and Siposs are going in the VFL, changes need to be made to the forward line.
Take Roo out of the game, the opposition is in the box seat to bank the 4 points. Roo needs more forward support.
