Not a bad call Bob .
Hard to know with groins. They can take a while. So Simpkin and Bruce will come into contention - especially with WCs tall forwards. You could well be right.

One thing we all agree on is Savage and Robbo out and Markworth in.

I think Longer and Bruce have to come in as the Eagles play 3 rucks and a very tall forward line !

Hearing Markworth.

What is his form? Does anybody know or is it just speculation?

Lance or James??

I think we may need Bruce to come in to cover NicNat who spends a lot of time as a permanent forward. That way we can play Delaney on either Darling or Kennedy and Gwilt (Fisher?) on the other. Dempster to play on Lecras.

Agreed if Giles can kick 4 against us how much trouble will we have with Natinui & Cox - Bruce has to play this week!

"K" I reckon you're a good judge. I'm going with your tip. Only proviso if Fisher is fit then he replaces Gwilt as well.
Give James a spell and he'll come back for the better.

We need Longer and Hickey over there in the west. Longer's leap might help counter NicNat's and give Hickey a spell.
Stanley as well could give us the edge in the ruck.
I'm hoping to start seeing something from him soon. :?

Gwilt was outstanding yesterday- no way he should be dropped. I would bring back fisher as a CHF type- he is so injury prone that giving him a late career forward role might just give him another couple of seasons and his contested marking and goal kicking are very good. trying to stop Fisher and riewoldt would stress most defences.

Giles was very good the last few years. No reason to disrespect him. Most teams will drop a resting ruck forward these days and because Gwilt was keeping very close on Cameron and Patton was tightly held by Delaney that meant we needed Dempster and Wright to try to cover a guy around 200cms tall. Mummy means they don't need Giles for every hitout. luckily the Dumpster just kept running across the front of the pack and cleaning up the stray kicks and Hickey was dropping back also.

Ray was good on the last line in the final quarter yesterday. We were missing run out of defence - so Webster to come back in for me.
Longer may come in for Maister to work on his marking in the VFL.
Reckon they'll get a couple more games into Markworth before we see him. Looking forward to Frankston next week.

Has played 2 decent games, but only in VFL practice matches.

I would be surprised if they picked him for the saints, as they are taking a pretty conservative approach after coming back from a knee.

I'd expect a month of match fitness before he plays seniors and selfishly, I'd like to watch his debut, so I hope it's back here!

We need an axe to gut down some WC tall timber .
The way they've destroyed Melbourne today will be giving the coaching panel a few nightmares for next week !

Wouldn't mind if Hickey gets a rest with his foot. I don't think that was his only injury either.

OUT Hickey, Savage, Roberton
IN Longer, Webster, Bruce/Simpkin

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Are any of Fisher, Simpkin or Bruce up for selection this week? You would think a bit more height and size might be needed in the backline this week not to mention a bit of experience.

From what I've read Simpkin has been rather ordinary for Sandy in the practise matches. I think if fit, Webster will come in at the expense of Roberton. Savage hasn't done enough and surely Ross, Markworth, Milera and Billings will come into consideration as the form Sandy players from the weekend. I'm leaning towards the pace and run of Milera or Markworth.

In:
Webster & Markworth

Out:
Roberton & Savage

I'd be more concerned about our back line than forwards. Particularly with their size. Markworth will have to wait we have enough forward options.

I'd be more concerned with specific players and not positional areas. Savage has had two ordinary games as a smaller high half forward and we have a number of players capable of playing that role that are in form for Sandy. Markworth can certainly fill that role and has made a claim for selection over the past few weeks.

We must have seen it very differently.
I think Gwilt was well beaten, particularly in the first 3 quarters, his last 15 minutes was OK once the sting was out of the game and the flood was on.
Oh well, he has to keep playing until Bruce is ready or Simpkin pushes him out...

Afraid to say it, but I think the Gwiltmeister is cooked.

Gwilt needs Bruce or Simpkin to kick on...

One of those needs to come in as well as him, not at his expense

Gwilt playing on monsters ATM. Bruce the only guy likely to demand Gwilt's position in the team. Not too sure how Bruce went for Sandy.

Would be picking only 22 players who are fit .
So rest anyone who is sore we won't beat West Coast but we will beat Adelaide if we are resting them the following week.
Ross replaces Armitage if sore
Longer replaces Hickey if sore
Make Eli (sub)
Play Milera ..Bruce Dunell as well use the list
