Re: Hickey
Hickey is rapidly improving. A lot of upside but it could still go either way. I don't think he will end up an average AFL standard ruckman. Either elite or a bust IMO. Putting my neck out there I'm leaning towards Hickey becoming one of the premier ruckman in the comp over the next 2-3 years. Def a lot more potential (athletically and ruck skills wise) than McEvoy who has always been a sure thing but never much scope for a lot of improvement. Ben has very good leadership skills though.

I don't think it is your fault BM, whether I agree or not I appreciate that usually your first post in a thread is at least on topicBigMart wrote:Skeptic
Is that my fault?
The vendetta is boring I agree... But slamming me for having an opinion and declaring I am a fool for it?!
After one game?! And the sprouting I went early?
Clearly a baiting attack because of there silly little hatred thing they have going
After Sat
I thought Tom played quite well... He was actually beaten statistically, but I believe was more effective....Than who though??
And he is nowhere near at the level Ben is... I can prove that easily on straight out effectiveness numbers
Bit he is less experience
Jury is out still IMO and I still think he has clear weaknesses

Re: Hickey
In fairness to me, Skeptic, my criticisms of BM have been limited to a couple of threads in the recent past. I hardly, "pop up no matter what", where he's concerned. He's hardly innocent when it comes to automatically contradicting those he dislikes, with P66 being only the most obvious example. Go back and see if you can find any exchanges between BM and me that extend back further than the last couple of weeks. I'll do us all a favour and ignore him from now on. I also dread seeing posts from him, but for different reasons than you.skeptic wrote:I pretty much dread seeing BM post now as you can guarantee plugger and WW will pop up and quote no matter what.
if only I could get TAB odds
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

He was noticeably hobbling a bit when they trained at Junction oval. He said it was just his running style but he looked like he was struggling with his legs a bit. Longer might be a late inclusion.

So he is certtain to play then?
Re: Hickey
I would not take any risks with our young ruck man - especially when we have more than competent back up.

I think he has more up side than big Ben . He is already a better tap ruckman.

On what measure?
Last 3 seasons McEvoy has averaged 25ho per game
Hickey 10 per game
How did you form this opinion?

Admit you were wrong calling Hickey a gumby.
You were wrong and Hickey is a good ruckman. See if your ego will allow you to admit even that
Lance or James??

But hang on
Someone just stated Hickey was ALREADY a better tap Ruckman... Just questioning how anyone could come to that conclusion?
They
Didn't say potentially or likely to be? Or mention age?
On Hickey
Let's see how he goes over a period of time before admitting or declaring anything. Jake Spencer? Mmm... He's barely a good VFL player

Re: Hickey
Big Mart makes me turn all religious.
Every time he goes on one of his circuitously repetitive arguments, I thank the almighty I was born male and straight.
Even the one in 20 something million possibility of meeting him and having to go bed to, or even worse wake up to some of his arguments would be like that horrible recurring nightmare of the wild beast chasing you and never quite being able to reach sanctuary from it.
Please Mr Mart, understand that repetition or rehashing of an argument does not enhance it's validity.

He is a better tap ruckman. Easily. Mcevoy is not much good at tapping compared to Hickey. Even a simpleton can see that.
Lies damn lies and statistics. Hickey still maturing McEvoy wont get any better. Our mids are getting more of the ball with Hickey.
You called him a gumby. I know who the gumby is.

Hickey 10ho per game with much less game time and several years less development
