Bit like saying Longer for Stanley last week when Longer cant play forward (yet)
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Nothing like it actually. Stanley is part ruck, and part forward. Longer would enter the team playing that role, albeit not as successfully some might say.joffaboy wrote:Hmmmm????FQF wrote:Swapping a back for a forward?SMS wrote:definetly, bruce should play. maister was horrible.

Far cry from swapping a forward for a back.
Re: INS and OUTS for Saturday v GWS
Tough week at the selection table. Obviously Hayes and Joey in. Longer and Bruce to combat Mummy/Giles and GWS's tall forwards in as well. Bruce can swing forward for added flexibility.
Unless there are injuries it'll be difficult to find four players worthy of being dropped. Roberton, Maister, Billings and Eli probably in the gun. The decision becomes easier if Armo and Webster don't overcome their minor injuries.

Their forward line is very tall.
I am hoping that Delany is a good fit for Patton. Well as good as we've got anyway.
Cameron did a bit of a number of Gwilt in the praccy match. Not sure how much to take out of it, but he seemed to be doing it easy. In that match he did kick most of hi goals, as he always does, in general play. He is not a mark-kick type player. Perhaps Dempster could go with him? I'm not confident that Bruce is ready for a Cameron sized task.
Then there's the likelihood of Giles forward. I think Bruce would be a better fit for him as he is not as agile or threatening as Cameron.
If they bring Boyd in, we should give Blake a call see if he's free.

Re: INS and OUTS for Saturday v GWS
Surely they won't play 4 key forwards. Surely not. And if they do, I would use it to our advantage, not match them man for man.
Cameron will have to be matched up with Dempster, Roberton or Simpkin. Gwilt is too slow I think.

I would say Gilbert would just about be the perfect matchup then almost anybody in the league..FQF wrote:Surely they won't play 4 key forwards. Surely not. And if they do, I would use it to our advantage, not match them man for man.

Cameron is a real good player already. Maybe Dempster or Simpkin.

Yeh maybe, but it would be a shame to lose his offence.Hallalj#3 wrote:I would say Gilbert would just about be the perfect matchup then almost anybody in the league..FQF wrote:Surely they won't play 4 key forwards. Re: INS and OUTS for Saturday v GWS
Id give Gilbo first crack on Cameron.
They might be tempted to bring in Bruce - but they will probably give Roberton a rocket and hope he steps it up this week.

Kelly in for Palmer
Hunt also in, and obviously Davis out.

No chance Markworth this week? GWS would be an ideal team to debut new players against.

Hey Pluggs, you've been sooooooooo busy training for your 9-a-side debut that you've let things slip here at SS... 'Guess the INS n' OUTS' should be your weekly thread.
Btw...
IN: Lenny, Monty.
OUT: Armo & Jimmy Web' (both injuried).
Notes:
IMHO Jack B must play. He seems more ready than I was expecting (which isn't surprising ), and especially he should play against a young team like the Wogans.
The Savage must play. He needs to be there for Wellington, and I reckon he's good enough to be there. Like a few notable others in our team, he was nowhere near as bad as some (initially?) thought. He also needs a few games for he and his team mates to get used to playing alongside each other.
Roberton (if fit) must play. This guy is a topliner, and will probably get better. (How quickly some forget. ) Needs the run.
BBBeau must play. Seems a few attitudes to the Beau are softening. Great news. Like with Roberton, people have quickly forgotten how nicely Beau's form was building last year till he got injured.
I'd really like Brucey in the team, especially given the Wogan tall forwards. But don't see anyone to drop to make way. What to do? Hopefully/maybe our three tall forwards will limit them from playing three of their own... especially as (I believe) Davis is out(?) Or if needed, maybe sacrifice Gilbo' to babysit Cameron? Otherwise, lots of mid field pressure to restrict the speed/quality of their forward entries, and if really needed, drop a ruckman into the hole...?
Thoughts Saintsationalists...?

In : Hayes, Monty
Out: Webster (inj), Billings
Bruce emergency if they go big.
Assume Armo fit.
Maister was terrible but need that 3rd tall for structure
Dempster to Cameron , Gilbert would be exposed if the went to FF
Delaney on Patton
Gwilt other match up if Giles pushes forward.
They have a couple big outs too, Palmer and Davis

There was a glowing article on Markworth early in the week and going by 2013, that's usually the signal that a player is about to break into the side for his debut.
