Albury-Wodonga Saints

Post: # 1439994Post hellorocky »

Hi there - some of you may have already received the following email from me but if not - please read - like some other official supporter groups - we are struggling a bit this year

We are taking a bus to the game this week, please call or email me to book your seat for Saints v Demons this Saturday night, 22 March 2014 - game starts at 7.40pm at Etihad Stadium. I have booked the large coach for this week.

2014 bus prices for members and non-members - Adults $55 - Children of school age $30 - this is the 4th year that the adult price has been $55 - the current return adult price on the train from Albury-Wodonga is $66 which is very competitive especially when there is no train back after a night or twilight game.

I still have 2 double FREE tickets to the St Kilda GWS game next week but these need to be booked by Friday this week - please ask and I will get them to you for any St Kilda person to use.

My email list had shrunk over the last few years due to St Kilda not being able to provide an updated list each year and emails addresses not being updated, please forward this on to your St Kilda friends in our area - Wagga - Albury-Wodonga, Corowa, Corryong, Beechworth, Wangaratta, etc and ask them if they want to be on my email list, they don't have to be a member. It's a small world and word of mouth is a great advertisement. It's also a great way to keep up to date on local happenings like the kids footy clinic and Plaza visits that weren't advertised by St Kilda

If you are on Facebook - join our page or at least have a look - it is open for all to see even if you aren't on Facebook - there's some great photos from the Wodonga visit a few weeks ago https://www.facebook.com/pages/Albury-W ... 9189685494.

We've been through tough times before - 2003 we had $60 in the bank and $100 in bills to be paid, we hadn't gone to more than a few bus trips in as many years - we took a bus to the first home game in 2004 at Etihad and played Geelong beating them 122 to 61 - Fraser Gehrig kicked 7 - many of us visited the rooms pre-game, we went on to win the next 9 games and played in a Preliminary final. We've gone by bus to all but 4 home games in 10 years, some away games, all finals and one final by bus to Adelaide.

It will get better, we will start winning games and people will want to get on the bus again. In the meantime we do have funds in the bank this time and by using a mix of bus sizes and utilising V-Line occasionally we will be in a better position to ride out the low times.

Great work by your group Donna ... all of us supporter groups have our own struggles but the effort you guys put in organising bus trips to games is fantastic ... us here at the Western Saints are now starting to use social media more and more because as you mentioned the email list we have is also three years old so lots of the emails are no longer working...
