Good Friday Footy in 2015!
It's on the agenda big time.
If Gilligan becomes CEO, he's Saints fan.
Saints vs Dees on GF. Heaven vs Hell!
Bring it on.

I'm pretty certain it'd be Essendon v Collingwood once the go ahead is given..

So they play on Good Friday and again on Anzac Day? That's a bit of a monopoly on the big days isn't it?Sobraz wrote:I'm pretty certain it'd be Essendon v Collingwood once the go ahead is given..
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

If he is a great CEO it wont help that he follows us. If they do have it in 2015 we are no hope. Imagine trying to sell the 2 bottom sides at a big game. We have more hope if the first game is 2019 or as I expect they rotate games. Still cant see it happening for a while and dont really care if it ever happens.saintspremiers wrote:It's on the agenda big time.

have to start pushing for it now. Two up and coming clubs Melbourne and Saints. Push for it hard on the back of the equalisation debate. Make it happen saints!!

It's a known fact Dimwit hated GF footy. The general public want it and I'm sure Fox Footy would eagerly take it. Lots of sports play on GF and the AFL like to keep a presence.plugger66 wrote:If he is a great CEO it wont help that he follows us. If they do have it in 2015 we are no hope. Re: Good Friday Footy in 2015!
Please don't have footy on Good Friday.
If it DOES eventuate and the Saints are playing, I won't be going. And I know plenty of other Saints supporters who wouldn't go.
Anyway it'd be like one of those dreadful NRL games played in a 1/4-filled stadium which you see late at night on the telly on Good Friday evening. Eminently forgettable.

No, let's not 'trial' it. We know what 'trial' means.
The only way the AFL would stop it is if it's a financial failure.... And even then, I doubt it. They would just pour more money into it until they were proved 'right'.

Why not? I'll go along, give me something to do - what a boring day it is otherwise. You can choose not to but I'm not sure why that means other people can't enjoy it.I Love Peter Kiel wrote:Please don't have footy on Good Friday.

Btw don't you realise that the whole point of religion for a lot of people is to give them a convenient excuse to pour cold water on anyone else's idea of fun?
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

Re: Good Friday Footy in 2015!
Do you honestly believe it would not be a raging success?? It would be a packed house no matter who played.. We must move 'heaven' and earth to grab the time slot.. Go some way to make up for all those other $$'s we lose over the year at Etihad.I Love Peter Kiel wrote:Please don't have footy on Good Friday.

Re: Good Friday Footy in 2015!
Because of Melbourne and ch7 long standing association with the royal children's hospital appeal
would the Afl look to have an interstate match ?
or make a match at docklands to help contribute to the appeal !

It's obvious that none of you realise why it would have to be a night game.

Plus , I agree the Royal Children's Telethon is on 7.... Always has been. Goes all day and into the evening.

Then dont watch it. Some people.
Re: Good Friday Footy in 2015!
Wouldn't it be easier trying to sell games for weaker teams when they are the only one playing?
I'm all for it....
It's a nothing day for me?
