There's a handful each year. Kosi played 20 in his first year. In fact about 50% of the Rising Star winners were in their first year: Hasleby played 21, Deledio 22, Selwood 21, Palmer 20, Rich 24, Heppell 23, O'Meara 22. All first round picks obviously but so is Billings.joffaboy wrote:Plus one. Absolutely insane to "expect" 15 games from a first year player. How often does that happen...
Others from last year: Whitfield 19, Wines 24, Mayes 18, Vlastuin 18, Kent 15, Jones 22, Terlich 20, Kommer 19, Dwyer 21, Rampe 23. The year before: Wingard 19, Greene 19, Adams 15, Devon Smith 20, Ellis 21, Clay Smith 16, Dickson 17, Magner 17.
Pretty obvious pattern there. They're either first round picks or mature agers. And those who are first round picks by and large have pretty mature bodies. Doesn't look like Billings falls into that category but Dunstan definitely does. He may not ever be a superstar but fingers crossed he could be pretty handy for us in the next few years.
