Dermott watch

Post: # 1435511Post jonesy »

The last two years we instantly became he second side, but after his best mate getting the chop I expect a negative critique barrage like never seen since Blighty's incoherent rant that night on channel 10

Dermie will be Dermie.

Was looking for Blight's incoherent rant on youtube, but could only find excerpts of it from the Open Mike interview. From 11:30 - 18:30 Blight reflects on his short lived coaching tenure at St Kilda

Was funny to watch Steve Baker's Open Mike interview and his thoughts on Blighty was that he was glad to see the back of him

Really no need to point out the obvious about the Saints today

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Dermott is a 3 club player who was crap at 2 of them and he comes from a family that is extremely questionable, hence my thought..F**k dermott and his opinions.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

But he didn't even play! So what's that say.

In fact the commentary is lazy. They were talking about Billings getting a run, yet he already did in first half

He's proud of playing at a club which had a racially-motivated recruitment policy at the time, and says he chooses his mates carefully, which is why he's suing two of them.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Dermot's commentary today was spot on, we were crap. Actually his commentary was not spot on, because he didn't say we were crap!

Dermott confuses talking a lot with being articulate. He wastes so many words. Most of what he says seems to come straight of the top of his head in a desperate bid to fill in the silence. As a result, most of what he says is ill-considered, inaccurate nonsense. Could use a lesson or two from the great man, Benaud.

I think many other AFL commentators could take a leaf out of the book of cricket's answer to Vin Scully.

The coverage was atrocious. I guess they're stretched a bit with 18 games in 18 days.

There was one of Roo's goals from a kick down field and I have no idea what it was for and nobody seemed interested in finding out.

Even worse was Dunstan's free and 50m where they missed both incidents.

It was a practice game and they were more interested in where the teams are at in relation to the real stuff, which in my opinion is fair enough.

Didn't bother the scorers so to speak, so Dermie would've seen an empty stats sheet and guessed.

Say what you like about him as a footballer, even a commentator, but leave his personal life out of it. That's his business, not ours. Ok?

Really I think Dermie's not a bad commentator.
He quite a lot of insightful detailed comments.
He wasn't at all biased against us.
Yes he's up himself, which is a bit annoying.
And he made a few mistakes.
But imperfections like those don't mean that he's absolute intolerable crap, as several here seem to be saying.

I actually though it was said in the 3rd quarter, either way, it definitely happened
