Difficult to pick out of a list in such heavy transition, but one thing the Saints do need is some excitement in general and, from a pure football point of view, some line-breaking dash out of defence. Newnes showed he could provide both last year and he has been the standout of the pre-season so far, suggesting the Saints' second-round pick in 2011 could be ready to take his game to another level in his third season. The club has already declared its hand to supporters, investing heavily in the draft and bringing in a new coach. So the difference Saints fans will be searching for this year is encouraging signs for the future in players like Newnes and this year's No.3 pick Jack Billings.

Dasher Newnes
My impression of Newnes on the move (2013) was of a slick mover or a potential line-breaker with what appeared to be a technically good running style. Just an impression but Jack did bring the feeling that he could keep getting better @ offering reliable run and carry as time goes on. Hope so.
I can't recall how speedy he actually appeared but hope he is fast as we need as many new skill-sets coming into defensive contention as possible.
Looks like we might be waiting a while longer on Siposs bringing some electricity to the team so if jack N. can bring it in 2014 it'll provide some important encouragement.
Having said that fingers crossed that Siposs and a few other likely lads really thrive under AR.
GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Re: Men who matter (Jack Newnes)
I don't think they could be bothered with the Saints by the look of it. Stanley is the guy we need to lift. If he gets going it will be massive. He's been unlucky with injury but if he can ruck and go forward again he could be an awesome player. He's been there for long enough to need to get moving too. Curren and savage should bring a bit of momentum into the midfield and Newnes will probably get some more time there along with Ross.
