Who'll be first ....
Which ex St Kilda player do posters think will be first to win a flag with their new club?
McEvoy at Hawthorn? Very possible. I think his height & strong marking will be definite assets, & I don't think Buddy will be missed too much. Hawthorn should have another good year. However, it's very hard for clubs to win back to back.
Dal at North? I see North as a top 4 team this year, after so many close losses last year, and I think Dal will play with renewed enthusiasm. However, I don't see North as premiers in 2014.
BJ at Essendon? They're likely to be up with the leaders this year. I think Bomber is a better coach than Hird, and there'll be strong motivation among the players after all last year's scandals. Not premiers though.
Tommy Lynch at Adelaide? Unlikely.
Zac at Fremantle? This is my nomination. I think Freo will go one better this year. RL will realise that it's not just strong defence that wins games, and he'll place more emphasis on team goals, in my opinion.

Re: Who'll be first ....
I think Bens team will struggle for three reasons, 1st is the premiership hangover, 2nd is their core group is ageing and 3rd is they will miss Buddy big time, what team wouldn't.
Dals team could click this year, wouldn't surprise if they made it to the GF.
Bombers could go all the way but only if infraction notices aren't issued.
Zac's team is a flip of the coin for mine, I got a feeling they mightt stumble again and probably before the big dance if their ageing tri of stars dont keep fit.

I'd like to see Zac's mob win the big one this year.
And Buckley fail amid claims the players aren't fit enough.

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window

Re: Who'll be first ....
Could be any of them really. Freo as someone said is getting on in years and are a bit like the saints with a top10 or so very good players and a weaker back end. Pies should be the bottom end of the 8 at best with the loss of some key talent. Dal is well placed and so is big ben so one of them. Lynch and Cripps look a way off yet. Tommy walsh looks a good possibility but he might be carrying the drink bottles.

Im not a BM fan but i think some people are missing his point about Ball. he has already won one so he is the first.

Re: Who'll be first ....
I'm sure the question was asked after Ball's appearance in 2009.
Surely if this was meant to be the criteria of any ex Saints players then Trott, Stewart etc etc etc fall into this category.

I know that but Im also sure BM was making another point about Ball as he constantly does. And it was 2010. That i can be sure of unfortunately.

Really? I have a feeling this was about current players who have left our club and not just for this season as Lynch and BJ were mentioned.

BM doesn't have a point. Or he has a weird time machine where next year is 2010 or an obsession with Luke Ball.

Roy Cazaly
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Who Cares!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss
