Shenton
I certainly had this guy earmarked for being cut from the list - in all the images he looks to be training at the front of the pack - seems to be giving it his best shot - anyone see any hope for him ??

Re: Shelton
who?
do you mean Shenton? Cameron
it took a while but he showed a bit later in the Sandringham season and was actully high up in their goal kicking
and from memory was the highest polling Sandy/ Saint player in the VFL award.

Re: Shelton
Good guess...............he is the only Shenton on the list so it shouldn't have been tooo difficult, especially for someone who took over from Zebraman as the resident Sandy expert....saintbrat wrote:who?

Maybe if he didn't look so mangy. A trip to the barber's shop could do wonders.

Re: Shenton
I thought he showed a bit in the intraclub last year and was capable of holding down a defensive role on small defenders. Alas he did not kick on. this would have to be last roll of the dice and will need absoltuely everything to go right if he is to still be at the club in 2015. Good luck to him.

Re: Shenton
And of course he's perfectly entitled to do just that. John Platten arrived at Hawthorn under coach Allan Jeans. Yabby wasn't impressed with Platten looking like the singer of Twisted Sister, but didn't criticise him for his hair after he delivered on the football field. If Shenton can do the same, I won't have any qualms about him looking like ol' JC during his crucifixion. But until then, he doesn't look like an AFL footballer in my eyes.bobmurray wrote:He might be like SampsonSainternist wrote:Maybe if he didn't look so mangy. If the Wild Man cuts his hair he should be instantly dismissed.

Wrong! He should be commeded for it. Short back and sides for the Wild Man. I don't want hippies on my footy team.saintspremiers wrote:If the Wild Man cuts his hair he should be instantly dismissed.

Ok, after we do that, I'm surprised he got retained, but he must be showing something considering his age. Hopefully he comes on and becomes a regular

Re: Shenton
He's fast, strong, skilful and aggressive. Still on the rookie list though. He might be fighting with Weller here.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Re: Shenton
Was really surprised he was retained given the depth in the rookie draft.
As he turns 24 next year, I'd have happily released him and gone for a player who could tackle a position we needed - up forward.
I dare say Mitch Thorp, at roughly the same age, would have offered quite a bit more.

Re: Shenton
I can't see him making it at this stage. With a look of players who are similar to cam already in the team. Maybe has more of a chance if he moves back forward and is able to hit the score board, now that milney and saad are gone. Really think we should of drafted another tall on the rookie list. Best matured age from the state leagues. In saying that I think the players we got Eli and mav are great pick ups
