Are you basically admitting that you're nothing but a troll? Incredible...plugger66 wrote:saintsrus wrote:Owned#gosaintas wrote:Must be fun at your place Pluggsy.

It's my birthday - hooray! "Don't get excited sweetheart, what if you fall over and hurt yourself. Won't be a great day then"
If we as saints fans can't get excited about the drafting of kids then there is something wrong. I'm sure lots of us remember watching a young Harvey, Dal, Rooey, Plugger etc. It's part of the journey to follow their rise or fall. Do we have to wait to win a flag to get excited? What's the point?
From my point of view I am looking forward to this year for the first time in a while. Watching the saints and watching the zebs will be compelling viewing and this off
season is already too long.
You really are a miserable old fool pluggsy.
Hilarious that you are 180 degrees wrong. This is site is about having fun and watching people grab the hook even if what I said is exactly how I feel..
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

I know nothing of Mav, but I get the feeling he may be a Heath Black type of player . About time we had a bit of mongrel about us.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Dont think he plays even slightly like Fisher did unless he eventually takes up umpiring.

Re: Maverick Weller (Rookie - Pick #20)
We always look to the older players for setting good examples and i think young Maverick showed a touch of class by grasping the idea of being de-listed and instead of paying out on his former club or himself he obviously figured out that actions speak louder than words by setting to out to prove mainly to himself that he has a lot to offer. So far so good with his endeavours to become a regular senior footballer. I wish him a long and successful career. We may have found another Tom Curren, determination personified.

Re: Maverick Weller (Rookie - Pick #20)
The downside is really capped with Weller joining us which is essentially what y'all wants with these picks.
He has already been in the gym for three plus seasons too.
With that in mind, I would expect him to play senior football and then some

Yeah Leigh was a very placid and disciplined bloke...
The comparison stems from
Similar physical size and shape.... Both junior mids who Started AFL across HB.... Both exceptionally hard workers and fit.... Both solid Allrounder games with no exceptional quality
But neither the greatest athlete though.... A and ended up solid citizens rather than fulfilling early promise...
Fisher due to injury of course....

Didnt they fight some other blokes together?StNoodles wrote:Couldn't see Fish going toe to toe with Campbell Brown, personallyBigMart wrote:I would liken Maverick to Leigh Fisher
Dont think they fought each other.
I think the tale/folklore is Brown 'saved' Mav .
Brown probably started it.
Anyway i believe bigmart on this one that weller is a tough nut.
Lets hope he plays well for us.

When they were going through Brown's rap sheet on the news it included having to be separated at training from Mav Weller. There was some footage. I'm not sure if Rhianna was there.Con Gorozidis wrote:Didnt they fight some other blokes together?StNoodles wrote:Couldn't see Fish going toe to toe with Campbell Brown, personallyBigMart wrote:I would liken Maverick to Leigh Fisher

Lighten up. This year will be fun because it has hope. Not for results this year but for enjoying the journey. That's what it's all about. Otherwise it's not worth it. What's to gain from crapping on enthusiasm for our draftees? This may be the best they ever get and you want to dampen it.
Again you are 180 degrees wrong. The best we will evetr get is winning a flag. It will happen for sure. Who knows when though. As for BM he bates all the time.

Weller and fellow new rookie Eli Templeton left on Friday to join their teammates for the rest of the training camp, which has just under two weeks left.
When they get back, he'll move from the Gold Coast to Melbourne. He's got his eyes on the bayside suburb of Hampton but will leave the ultimate decision up to his girlfriend.
He's not sure if his parents will shift as well; they're pretty happy with their decision to trade Tasmania's weather for sunny Queensland and are established with their own business on the Coast.
While Weller might not find himself in line to play senior football right away at St Kilda, given his rookie status, he's simply thrilled to be given another chance at an AFL career.
"It didn't worry me where it was. I just wanted a foot in the door and I'll make it work now," Weller said.
"It's just good to get some clarity of where I'm going to be and now the hard work starts and the journey begins."

Getting picked up by the Saints is made even more special by the fact that I’m joined by a guy I have known for almost my entire life in Eli Templeton.
Eli was the first rookie pick for the team this year and I am stoked to have him on board. We are both from Burnie in Tasmania and have known each other since we were kids. Our dads played and coached together in the Tasmanian league and our families are very close.
So it’s amazing that our football journeys have seen the two of us fly to the other side of the world to join our new teammates in Boulder, Colorado.

I really, really hope this bloke makes it. Has talent but the application was the worry - seems as though he's absolutely committed to changing it.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

What's been wrong with his application?

Always been a heavy trainer.... Always extremely fit
Can be a touch ahead of himself and a bit cocky..... But definitelly works hard
As does Templeton
