Sadly anything about Gold Coast won't sell papers in Melbourne. We are easy meat. Lazy journalists in fear of the big boys...Collingwood and Eddie for starters....Hurricane wrote:Can't wait to read the articles saying Gold Coast is a rabble of a club, imploding, players hate the coach, crisis ect ect that they would be bringing out if it was, for example, Geary that broke TDL's jaw.

"Good grief Campbell Brown
■ Age: 30
■ Games: 205 (159 for Hawthorn, 46 for Gold Coast).
■ Tribunal record: Has missed 28 games through suspension, including the first six and the last three rounds of 2012 season. Will miss the first round of 2013.
■ August 2005: Suspended for four matches for striking Essendon’s Matthew Lloyd, resulting in a late start to season 2006.
■ August 2007: Fined $15,000, with half suspended, after admitting on a TV panel show that he had lied to the AFL tribunal over an incident in which Carlton’s Chris Judd appeared to eye gouge Brown. Brown’s evidence in May 2007 had resulted in the charge against Judd dismissed.
■ 2008: Member of the Hawthorn premiership team.
■ August 2009: Key participant in the fiery and acrimonious Essendon v Hawthorn match in Bomber skipper Matthew Lloyd’s final game. After the match on radio Brown accuses Lloyd of being a “sniper”.
2011: Joins Gold Coast.
■ April 2011: In his second game for his new club Brown is suspended for four matches after an off-the-ball incident involving Bulldog Callam Ward and another clash with Barry Hall. The suspension sees him miss the Suns first ever win against Port Adelaide.
■ August 2012: Six-match-ban for a high bump on Adelaide’s Aiden Riley in the final home-and-away match of the season.
■ September 2012: Arrested in Thailand after a fracas with another tourist at a party on Koh Phangan Island. Brown was photographed in a dishevelled state at the police station. As a result he was stripped of the Suns’ deputy vice-captaincy and dropped from the leadership group.
■ August 2013: Suspended three matches for kicking Melbourne’s James Strauss in the head.
■ November 2013: Investigated over an altercation following the club’s Arizona training camp which has left young Suns player Steven May with a suspected fractured jaw.

Remember seeing some interview with Campbell and Mathew Lloyd.
'
Think of what you want about Lloyd, but he was a gun player. Brown had no right to be sitting in the same room discussing football; even if it was an issue regarding both of them.

I'm just waiting to see if Caro goes ballistic on this one, including culture, lack of leadership etc etc. Let see if Caro judges a serious assault resulting in a broken jaw as more serious than a practical joke on a dwarf? Brown may serve time for this if charged.

Eddie was defending him this morning (is mates with his old man). Ed says that some bloke deserve a whack, and that Brown saved Mavrick Weller from thugs in Thailand, so he should be celebrated.
*Allegedly.

Oh Eddie says Brownie is a stand-up honest dude, someone you would love to have on your side.satchmo wrote:Eddie was defending him this morning (is mates with his old man). Eddie, if Brownie gets cut from the Suns, fly him down to your mob and offer him 2 years.
Won't cost much re match payments, will get suspended quite often.
Cheap player. Good to have on the track for leadership qualities and mentoring.
Just needs $8000 worth of tatts to cover the needle marks.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

The needle marks for what? What a strange thing to say.

Re: Campbell Brown - Gold Coast, Glass Jaw
There is a lot of good to come out of this.
How many times do you see in the news, young blokes get belted outside a pub/nightclub.
I firmly believe that the amount of violence in movies, and in video games, etc, gives Gen Y or X or whatever,
the impression that a human head/jaw/nose is able to take a vicious impact with little damage.
This may be a reality check.
I watched Fast & Furious 6 recently, and the amount of quasi-martial arts fighting was worrying, especially the two ladies punching on, and each person ended up with only a small mark on the cheek.
This is rubbish and I would say people are seriously misled by Hollywood, as to the damage caused by a punch.
