Re: 66' never seen this b4 enjoy
Bloody awesome.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Thank you so much, McAdam05 and Saintbrat.
I can't wait to look at them this evening. No doubt it'll be an emotional viewing experience.

Fantastic, it makes me feel old watching a newsreel from the ark. Pity the boys celebrated in Collingwood jumpers. I didn't remember the goal umpire going down. Great stuff

I wondered that too
I have rad where some supporters/fans wonder why we don't have something like what the Kangaroos do prior to singing their song-
sounds like around 66 there was such a ditty.

Re: 66' never seen this b4 enjoy
Was there that day with my dear departed Dad. I turned 10 years old that week, but vividly remember the day. Never tire of seeing anything about it, or anything about the players. Those two things have been terrific to view.
My Dad used to have a drink at Seira's father's pub on the way home sometimes, so that was interesting to see him. And drinking one of those old-fashioned tinnies! What a show-off our No 13 was though!

And now we finally have an ex Collingwood player as our coach (rather than just an assistant from their club) who can bring those Saints Premiership jumpers back home where they belong.Greg T wrote:In another special, all the lads said, even the doc, they wish they had there saints jumpers on.Toy Saint wrote:Fantastic, it makes me feel old watching a newsreel from the ark. This could be the turning point!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Here's A good trivia Question Who was the last former Collingwood player to coach St Kilda ( hint he played in the 1966 Grand Final)

Thanks for posting. Imagine today someone playing in a grand final spending the day before mucking about on his farm with a bunch of sheep. Guys kicking drop kicks. Was a very different world then.

Re: 66' never seen this b4 enjoy
Alan Davis was a St.Kilda player who had a few games with Collingwood.
Re: 66' never seen this b4 enjoy
I think Alan Davis ended up playing at 4 clubs. The Saints, C'wood, E'don and Melbourne. I f my memory is correct (and I really doubt it sometimes) he ended up chasing the dollars because his house burnt down up in the Dandenongs somewhere and he was trying to put money together to rebuild.
