Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
Afternoon fellow Saintsational-ites!
Just draged this down from one of the more reliable forums out there - http://www.scpaige.com.au/tuesday-draft ... -whispers/
It would appear that Billings, Dunstan and Dumont will be heading our way come Thursday evening.

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
All three would be great. Good quality with Dunstan being an MVP and captain of his state shows we are looking at quality people as well as quality footballers.

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
Hope they havent been swayed by the emotion of the 'local boy' with Billings.
Having said that - the boy can play and starred while carrying an injury which is a good sign and shows hes a class above.
Not sure how we can be certain Dumont and Dunstan will still be there at 18.19?
Emma Quayle has them going at 15 (Dumont) and 22 (Dunstan)...
While 'footy tragic' has Dumont at 10 and Dunstan at 14.
So Im tipping there is no chance we will get all 3.
But if we did end up with those three it will be a big thumbs up....

At a pinch - I'd prefer Kelly over anyone (excluding Boyd) but probably Billings over Aish. My great fear is that Aish will have a big 'go home' discussion all around him if he lands outside of SA. To be honest - I'm not sure our club is strong enough right now to hold Aish.
But you're right CG - all three would be a ripper result!

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
Cheers Saintmatt for the link
Some interesting musings there - obviously we dont really know how accurate the authors inside information is however they more than likely know more than us
Happy with Billings at 3 and prefer Dumont over Dunstan - think he might have a higher ceiling
If Zak Jones was available I would look at him as well given he is local and an improver
Both Dumont and Jones are considered to be "raging bulls" - reckon its exactly what we need - imagine having a natural tendency to go hard it and then having Lenny as a tutor - could get ugly for some opposition teams down the line

I remember McQualter being a Vic Country captain. Also from reports and decent bloke.

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
I really want us to pick Kade Kolodjashnij at 3. He reminds me so much of Scott Pendlebury. He has defiantly been overlooked in some discussions (on forums and in the media) for our pick 3.
My preference for pick 3 would be in this order (Boyd going at 1 obviously).......
Kelly - will probably go to GWS at 2
Kolodjashnij - Scott Pendlebury 2.0, watch his highlights on the afl site, silky smooth
Billings - wild card in the midfield, can provide a spark.
Aish - can get tagged, will be a very good player but I think others offer more.
Scharenberg - big body at U18s level, will not stand out as much at AFL level in my opinion.
I haven't seen a lot of Billings in midfield to pass judgement on his ability to become a genuine mid. But I think for us to pick him at 3 we'd have to be absolutely certain he can make it as a midfielder...and a very good one at that.

Sainter for life.
Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
The big question is would the go home factor be lessened for Aish if we got the Dun-Dum combo @ 18 and 19? With Murdoch on the list from last year also... personally its too much of a risk imo as Dun-Dum may not be available. Please please please pick mids though, Dun-Dum, Acres, Jones, all look like beasts in the future!

Go home seems like a rubbish excuse to me. Get whoever you want and trust your club to be good enough to keep them.
Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
Without doubt this year has had the most phantom drafts and predictions to date... Obviously this will increase by the year...
Almost no point in holding the draft... just average out the phantoms and send the players on their way..

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
It will be interesting Thursday with a lot of posters bemoaning the fact that their pet draftee that they have been promoting for weeks doesn't get picked by us. Some heads would explode if we picked Garlett !!

Dunstan isn't, but Aish and Dumont both are.Munga wrote:Are Aish, Dumont and Dunstan all from Norwood? That's some effort.

Re: Billings; Dunstan & Dumont
Have we ever had three top 20 picks ?
I guess we did the year we got a priority pick ?
So this is a once a decade event.
