This.

The fixture is the biggest non event of the football year.

You're good enough you win.
Just to clarify - Foxtel games don't bug me at all. In fact I like them better.

My theory on the fixture is the good and bad sides dont get effected at all. Its all about the middle sides. Agree it basically means Jack.
even in 2005? We were royally screwed.

Cannot remember 2005.

Remember losing a home prelim though...

We will win the first 6 games!

In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

I like Foxtel games, it's not cheap as a subscriber so there should be benefits

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

So is a 3:20 start a day game or a twilight game ?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

How come the 16th worst side gets the 10th worst draw?

Richmond, Adelaide, West Coast and North ALL have BETTER draws

Yep by injuries. We won 19 in a row in 2009. my guess is we played most sides nearly everywhere in Australia. When was the last side to win the flag because of the fixture. Sides may make the 8 because of it but I doubt any have won because of it. If that was the case wouldnt have the pies won 20 flags in a row?
Not saying any of that but we had at least 50% or more 6 day breaks than the next team. It would have made a difference.

This draw tells me the AFL is desperate to get the Tiges back in the finals and also feels a pang of guilt about the crows and wants them back in as well.

We have 9 winnable games.

If we finish the year with 6 wins and a number 4 draft pick ill be happy.

It's really neither.

So let's call it midlight.

Finals may be meaningless for us but in the run-up we have:

1. 4 away games in the last 5 rounds, and 3 in succession.

2. Three interstate games in August.

What kind of draw gives a team 3 successive home games, and then 3 successive away games?

for some years now most have noted it is a FIXTURE- not a draw

But more than happy to have 9 from 11 games at the start of the year In Victoria.
Untill friday

It was a greatFixture for the memberhsip department- unlike last year where there were 3 interstate- O/S games within the first 5.

if the year will be as middle/ low of the ladder as many are predicting - then away games at the end of the year will be less painfull.
