Re: De Listings Today
I struggle to follow it these days with how many different dates there are, but I know Ferguson is gone and was on the rookie list. Can Saad be kept on the rookie list during a ban??

Rookie Jackson Ferguson has been advised that he will not be offered a contract in 2014."

Re: De Listings Today
Supposedly we can have over the required amount until draft, then we must make changes....I think?
Thats Mr. Smartarse to you
Re: De Listings Today
for a start it cant be it unless we arent planning to upgrade Curran or not use pick 19. There are 2 more list lodgements to go.
Re: De Listings Today
So if we do get lucky and Boyd slips to our first pick, then we are able to de-list Riewoldt as he'll be surplus?Buckets wrote:Supposedly we can have over the required amount until draft, then we must make changes....I think?
In all seriousness, if we get Billings who i touted as a high half forward/future mid, surely TDL would go, as that forward flank is the only possie he can slightly play...

Im sad to see Jacko go.
But footy is a coat throat business. We usually focus on the stars but we forget it can be tough for the majority of guys.

Doesnt really want to but im sure he wouldnt say no. Reckon he will play in SA next season or maybe another VFL club like Port or frankston.
Re: De Listings Today
Sad for Jackson.
Had a mare against North and never got another look in.
But with Delaney and Bruce in, and with blokes like Simpkin, Roberton, etc he is way way behind.

Re: De Listings Today
Yep, I feel really really sorry for him today.
All those years, working his way towards one lousy game. (literally)
Thanks for trying, and sorry the dream came to nothing.

Re: De Listings Today
Somebody had to go and unfortunately, Jackson was just not up to it, especially with our new "ins." His match against North was an embarrassment, but not all his fault. AFL is a tough gig these days.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Shame it wasn't TDL out, but I guess we need to be patient.
Also good to play games with the boys and keep them on edge to motivate them to train harder

Surely at least one more will be delisted. It would be absolutely criminal if Curren isn't elevated

Re: De Listings Today
Ross Lyon's philosophy was on recruiting recycled players instead of developing our own so I reckon you're not going to be very lucky with 4th round draft picks if that's your focus.Wayne42 wrote:We haven't had much luck with our NSW Scholarship players, they haven't been good enoughCon Gorozidis wrote:Im sad to see Jacko go.

Previous footy department failed to think long term or best practice like Swans, Cats, Hawks and to a lesser extent Eagles, Crows and more recently Dockers. Ross Lyon neglected and ostracised the young draftees and rookies.
CP and SW have changed the focus to recruiting and developing our own and I'm confident that the next few blokes on the top banner here on ss will go on to be regulars in the seniors.

Re: De Listings Today
just love the headlines--The best memory is not the game itself but before the game, all the boys getting around you, all the older players trying to help a young bloke in his first game, that was great. The game itself didn't go according to plan," he said.
In the whirlwind, even umpire Ray Chamberlain was giving him advice.
"He kept saying, 'I've told you three times don't hold him', but I said, 'This is the first time you've talked to me'.
"My knee flared up again after that game so I only played two or three games for the rest of the year."
Ferguson said the news his dream is over - at St Kilda, at least - was hard to take, but he didn't have any hard feelings.
"I'm pretty grateful, after they took me in as a 15-16-year-old and I've had one of the best life experiences you can get. I'm pretty happy with what they've given me and they've got to do what they've got to do.
"I'll take it as a kick in the guts and move on."
As a late starter, Ferguson said he had still had plenty of improvement in him and his knee has been given the all-clear. The injury meant more time in the gym and he has added 5kg of muscle.
St Kilda delivers cruellest cut, delisting Jackson Ferguson after one game in five years
you mean no other club has delisted Rookies
or few game-- or many game or premisership players........................
