Re: Maverick Weller
Does anyone have a solid opinion on of Weller? Highly rated coming on I remember but haven't followed his three years all that closely.
Worth a punt? Injury interrupted year this year?

Re: Maverick Weller
I'd have him on the list before TDL, Milera, Maister and Jones. Saad too given his imminent suspension.

Re: Maverick Weller
I think Dunnell could be in trouble too. Weller is a tool apparently and thinks he's "a great player with leadership and in and under ability" was more around the mark of what he said. I like the cocky guys myself you want them to back themselves.
Weller was a shock delisting and no one could understand why they didn't try trading him out first. They might have given him a kick up the bum his next club will benefit from.

Forget about Jolly.....Weller is the man. Apparently has a case of the FIGJAMs but I trust our leadership group to knock it out of him.

I thought the same- why not trade...
Re: Maverick Weller
It would seem we are going to get weller unless someone beats us to him which I doubt. probably get him the same way as Roberton. That makes at least 2 delistings from the current crop. Hope they do it soon as we got bad publicity last season for delisting Winmar late. Imagine if we delist 2 or 3 late.

We will get bad publicity anyway, seem to all the time. Grudging appreciation of the trade period, but still "rumblings" from Seaford
If Weller was delisted there must be a reason. Lets put it in perspective, we are not getting a 21 y.o. Chris Judd type for nothing.
If he was any good GC would not have delisted him.
And Mad Saint Guy, what has Weller shown that you would have him in front of two small forwards and our only stopper?
Lance or James??

Re: Maverick Weller
Well someone is definitely making way.. Saints put it on there Website he mentioned it in an interview 2 and 2 together Saints would've already made that commitment. Similar to Luke Delaney he had that interview on SEN because North and saints had already made the Deal..

TDL is a hack. So Weller has little to aim to to be better.Con Gorozidis wrote:Classic batnoe
If it comes down to a simple question of TDL v Weller
Then we take Weller surely ?

Doesn't matter whether it's a fringe player. If it's a "scandal" the player's status grows overnight.plugger66 wrote:howlinwolf wrote:If so I hope he matures quickly and pulls his head in.

Re: Maverick Weller
His parents were big fans of the movie Top Gun.
They named him after The Tom Cruise character Pete (Maverick) Mitchell.
So they could have named him Pete Weller or Mitchell Weller.
Nah... it's gotta be Top Gun Weller or Maverick Weller. Let's go with Maverick Weller.
So the story begins. But how does it end .. ???

Re: Maverick Weller
Don't know much about him, but just watched two goals from the '50', one on the right and one on the left. Who do we have that can do that?
I know kicking goals is not the only consideration of ability.

Welcome to the club Maverick.
Gilbee was drink driving. Mav had a fist fight with a soldier at a Thai resort island and had a verbal with campbell brown.
He's full of himself but can play.
