Re: A Good Trade Period
We made tough calls early in trade week on Dal Santo and McEvoy...
It was a gamble, but it paid off, giving us a real opportunity to knuckle down on completing deals elsewhere.
We've got a strong hand at the draft and have injected kids who will be here for the next decade.
We no longer have to be fearful of getting blitzed by GWS and Gold Coast from 2016-2021 - we can be up there too.
A few more top picks in the coming years should enable us to be the best Victorian club in this period as well as competing for premierships.
Which, ultimately, is what it's all about.

Re: A Good Trade Period
According to the Herald Sun we had a bad trade period.
They rated only Brisbane and Essendon as doing worse than us and only equal with West Coast.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Yeah I'm with you. I think they've done a great job to rejuvenate our list, We wont know for awhile how good the results will be but at least its very promising.Con Gorozidis wrote:Im pretty impressed.
He said we would be 'aggressive'
He said there would be two bombshells
He said we would target 3 top 20 picks.
Everything came true. Well done. I dont think trade time is easy on anyone.
Now we need Tony Elshaugh to shine with his 3 picks!
CMON!
I'm also hoping some of our current young blokes start to shine and the 3 new ones cause a selection dilemma.

i make i ..for curren....that's all....Selhurst Saint wrote:We definitely need to get Curren on our list so there will be at least two further delistings.ace wrote:We presently have only 2 National Draft picks activated.
That means 1 player must be cut to accommodate National Draft pick No 19.
Another player will need to be cut to accommodate Pre Season Draft pick No 3.
Then if any permanent rookie upgrades are to be made additional cuts are necessary.
7 off......4 on....plus 3 picks...
that's without upgrading curren
...unless we place our vets outside the list and then go with less rookies..if you are still allowed to do that...someone will know....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

Re: A Good Trade Period
Would be considered a 8.5/10
2011 draft and trade period was successful
Milera, Saad, Roos for pick 20
Markworth for Tom Walsh
Newnes for Lynch
Webster for Pick 42
2012 draft was equally as successful
Lee and Wright for pick 12
Hickey and White and TDL (waste) for picks 13 and 37
Murdoch for Pick 40
Saunders Pick 43
pierce pick 75
Roberton Free
Minchington Rookie
I think this one is possibly better
3
18
19
Longer
Bruce
Delaney
Out of those three drafts
2 A Grade Players+
6+ B Grade players
A few C Graders
Plus draftees from 2014-2016
To Join Jack, Armo, Stanley, Geary, Gilbert, Simpkin..... In 2016-2018
